    Brew Pubs in Richmond VA

Well I went with Capital Ale House for Dinner tonight, I must say It was an over all good experience. The only down side is they allow smoking. I did not notice though until someone in the booth behind me lit up, so they do a good job of filtering the air. I started off with the St. Goarge...

    Brew Pubs in Richmond VA

I am in Richmond this week and looking for a good place for food and beer, I looked on Google and found a place called Capital Ale House that looks nice. Anyone know of any other good places? I am in downtown Richmond and I don't want to drive too far, unless its for really good beer.

I am not sure what the lime in Corona is for( one rumor was that the lime is wiped around the rim of the bottle to kill bacteria), but beers like Belgian Wit's with orange and American Hefe's with Lemon are to accentuate the other natural flavor's in the beer. Personally I enjoy a good wit...

Why the HELL isn't my beer carbonating

Also I don't think anyone else mentioned it so I will, 1/2 cup corn sugar is not going to produce much carbonation. If I remember right, browns are not supposed to have alot of carb so you are probably ok, but I just wanted you to realize what you did there.

So my wife and I really like the Lindemans Framboise beer. I am not sure I am capable or have the patience to duplicate this fine brew, so I was thinking of trying a Raspberry Wheat of sorts. I need it to taste more of raspberries though then malt, like the Framboise. So I was thinking something...

It's so cute when SWMBO tries to do something nice, but...

I would have to agree that shock top is not that bad. I first tried it when I was in vegas on vacation, as some of the places we went to didn't have much else besides the standard BMC lagers. Granted I have not had it since, and I would probably not buy it in stores as there is plenty of...

Any ideas on what this is?

I have something very similar on my cider, mine appeared soon after I took a sample to test the gravity. I use a thief, and it was thoroughly soaked in no rinse sanitizer before going in, it did leave some suds behind though from the outside of the thief and that seems to be where it started...

What are you getting for Christmas (Beer related)

I bought myself a mini fridge to convert to a kegerator, and I think my in-laws are getting me a barley crusher.

Is there anybody out there who's got "that" conical?

Of course forrest is going to say they are poor quality, he wants you to buy the ones he sells.

    Kitchenaid grind (pictures)

Well if its a plate mill like the corona mill, and tons of people use corona mills with no problems, then you should be fine.

    Plastics.

Sounds like a great excuse to go all metal. With direct fire MLT. Its much more expensive.

so I thought it was a brew store...

Ive never heard of this before. It sounds great for someone who wants to learn how to brew before making the big investment, and you get to do your first brew with someone there to help you so you don't mess it up and waste money.

    What's in your Backlog Inventory?

Unfortunately my sig is accurate, I have been drinking store bought beer for months. Though that is going to change soon. As you can see I have a cider and my Pale, and I will be bottling those this weekend. And my Hefe will be starting next week(hoping to be ready for Christmas). I travel so...

    What about growing/selling hops?

Beer brewing is only going to keep growing. Which means the demand for Hops will keep growing. So if you have the start up capital, its not a bad venture.
