    PicoBrew Zymatic

Can I be added to the list of Zymatic owners interested in this long term solution for the step fileter, please? Stefan

    Picobrew Z

Not sure whether it is a paid add-on or come with the machine, but somewhere along the line the Pico sales documentation made mention of also0 being able to brew using pico paks. Probably need to ask pico via [email protected] for any detailed questions

    Picobrew Z

It works the other way around. The Zymatic was always "brew your own" and the Pico used the (Keurig-like) Pico paks. The base Zs are like the Zymatic, "brew your onw" but you have an add-on to use the (Keurig-like) Paks, if you want. Stefan

Benefits of a conical fermenter for a PicoBrew

Actually I ferment in 5g conry's, if stainless steel is good enough for professional breweries, why not? The advantage of a Conical, I think, would be to dump your yeast before any secondary fermentation. Most of my beers are single fermentation so one keg is enough. Big advantage is using the...

And DONT forget - the advanced editor is wiped out if you do a 'normal' edit to your recipe. So be sure to print a copy of the advanced editor, just in case. And I always check it before starting a brew where I used advanced editor, JIK Stefan

    PicoBrew Zymatic

+1 on that. I had my recently fixed Zymatic brewing and had overflow. When I checked the set-up, the shelf on which it stood had shifted and was not longer level. Adjusted everything so that the Zymatic is now level and it works perfectly. Don't forget an upside down spoon or a keg lid o-ring on...

    Brewie+ vs Picobrew Z

I cannot answer about 'Brewie" but I do have a Picobrew Zymatic (precursor to the Z). I have to say that I have had my ups and downs. But overall, I have had excellent customer service, including two free revisions (including shipment to and from their home base). In fact the last one happened a...

    PicoBrew Zymatic

I bought one of those electric brushes "as seen on TV", even easier to get the inside of the keg really clean

    tilt v.s. brew bug

AT $50.00, yes I would be interested! One Tilt is good, but two or three digital hydrometers are even better, for multiple fermentations.

Remove 1/2 inch from a standard dip tube. But be careful, don't collapse it.:mug:

    tilt v.s. brew bug

Exactly, you can use the Tilt standalone, send the data via an Android device or Apple device to a Google sheet for display, OR use a BrewPi

    tilt v.s. brew bug

Yes there is, go to the BrewPi.com site, click on community and look for the Intergrating Brewometer thread. Scann down through the thread for a link to the instructions (look for the posts by sbowler) https://community.brewpi.com/t/brewometer-integration/1674

    PicoBrew Zymatic

Easy enough to find out. Buy yourself a digital thermometer with probe, many have one at the end of a wire. Hang the probe in the keg (just rest the keg-seal on top) and check that temperature. It should be close to what the Z is showing. You should probably dip the probe in Starsan first, but...

Keg cleaning frequency - how often for a full breakdown?

Probably sodium percarbonate (10 lbs $25 Amazon), PBW also has metasilicate, but that is a more dangerous substance, difficult to find I hear. It may also have sodium carbonate. Percarbonate and carbonate = Oxy Clean and is similar to BLC. Just Google, you will find a number of recipes.

HAPPY St. Patrick's Day INKBIRD Giveaway

This would be a useful addition to my set-up. Controlling fermentation temperatures is critical to creating good beers

    PicoBrew Zymatic

Yup, if I have a "complaint" it is that my yields are often lower than expected. So I always put 3 gallons in the Recipe Crafter, usually end up with six bottles and a 2 1/2 gallon keg that is between 75 and 90% full

I don't think I am at NHC level yet, although PSBO is pretty big for the SouthEast. This KY Common scored "only" 40 to get the gold, my Berliner Weisse, (also Z brewed) actually reached 43, but no medal. European sours was a hot group this year.

    PicoBrew Zymatic

Just used the special "whirlpooling" technique, otherwise standard Z process. This was the second brew of hat recipe, did not change much between the two. Guess I got lucky :tank: Stefan
