This one ages well and really improves over time.

The Old Ale makes 12 pints, which is a gallon and a half. Mr. Beer makes 2.1 gallons so it might be a bit on the weak side.

Even if it's too bitter after the beer is fully conditioned just set it aside and let it age for a few months. Hop bitterness fades with aging.

Thanks grasshopper. The one I brewed that had a slight fruity taste was fermented at 22 deg so I guess that explains it. The taste did dissipate after two months conditioning.

Is the Cooper's yeast fruity like Mr. Beer's? Just wondering if they use the same yeast since they're the same company.

Just bottled an Oktoberfest - I know, I'm late. But I have two going now - an amber ale and a Mexican Cerveza. When those are finished I'm going to brew up some dark ales and porters for the winter season.
