3 dry hop stages? First I've heard if this. I tried 2 stage once and felt like it didn't make any improvement over 1. Now I just do all the dry hops once for 4-7 days.
Well after much evaluation I must say the 2015 YVH Mosaic is not up to par. I think the Citra is a little better but really not much.
Both beers I've brewed do not have any distinctive flavor or aroma as compared to last years crop.
I have not done both Galaxy and Equinox together. But in using Equinox I can tell you it easily overpowers due to its high oil content. So depending on what you're going for definitely keep that in mind. Maybe 2:1 Galaxy:Equinox would be good
Had the same experience. Half pound of Citra came punctured. They promptly sent a return label and sent and replacement which was fine.
Ordered 5 more pounds, various kinds. Nugget was punctured. I didn't bother seeking replacement since they will be just for bittering. Annoying none the less.
+1 bitter with Apollo. I have used all three in an IPA, good combo. Throw in some Mosaic as well. I frequently use Apollo and Comet together, very much grapefruit. Galaxy and Mosaic bring a nice tropical fruit flavor to balance that out.
The sulfur smell is temp dependent. I don't recall the ideal range but do some searching and you'll find it.
I used WLP400 on my first Wit and it fermented mostly in the low 70s. I had some sulfur smell but was able to bleed it off from the keg and after a bit of conditioning it was gone.
I've had the same results with oats in my Pale Ale attempts. All were mashed around 150. I'm thinking I will up the temp to 154 to see if that makes a difference.
I just bought some puree from perfectpuree.com
You have to buy 3 to make it worth it. They are shipped frozen packed with dry ice.
I got the passionfruit for a Belgian wit that I am kegging next week.
Also got pomegranate and prickly pear. I can tell you they are a bit pricey but definitely...
