Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

I am doing the same "thing". I have way more Profiles than beers I brewed, hoping one of the Profiles will fit my Cold Crash or Diacetyl cleanup. This Software would cost a lot of money if only sold to whoever had the money! If you look at the commercial control systems, they don't do anything...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Yes, but this is a little easier to do - Just turn off Profile and then Set Beer Constant temperature. So much labor went into this project from John, @Thorrak , me crying about a quicker way to accomplish something, makes me wonder if he needs to send me a bill..;)

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

EXACTLY, @Thorrak ! "cold crash now" OR warm up NOW, button, will prevent having to make a new beer profile. This new button will insert an add-on Profile, that picks up at current temperature. Therefore, no need for anyone to manually look at the current temperature, make this set point 1...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

This is, at or near the end! I just want the profile to see what the exact current temp is, and either warm up to get the last gravity points out (or diacetyl clean up), or cool down (or crash). I just dont want to look at what the exact current temperature is ..... then create a New Profile...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

How do I Create a New Beer Profile and have the current beer temperature, be a variable number, as Set Point 1, and say add 6 degrees over the next 2 days? I do not want to keep creating new beer profiles, with 0s (zero seconds, or the current temperature) being the first start set point that I...

EXPERIMENT: Fixing a broken Belgian Pale with Brett Brux

I was just down in Florida, riding my bicycle around the State, and could not find many Florida Craft Brews, available to buy at the stores... So, knowing Cigar City makes great beer, I bought a 4-pack of their Belgium Cosmic Crown. As a long time brewer of Belgium beer, this one was a must to...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

@Apothbeer I do not have a glycol chiller, but I do circulate 38-40 F water through my SSBrewtech cooling coil, in the 14 gallon conical. I get about 1 to 2 degree over-cooling, then the set point. This will slowly hone into the setpoint, but never really get close. Usually gets to within 1...

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

@Thorrak , But why does the OLED display on the ESP32 sitting on top of the fermentor, outside, show the Tilt's gravity that is in the conical? Also, Tiltbridge.local shows the Tilt hydrometer reading on any computer on my home network. But, Fermentrack does not show the reading of the Tilt (see...

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

@IDMaynard I thought that once the Tiltbridge captured the weak signal, the conversion to Wi-Fi would be a full strength of what the ESP32 was capable of... So, you are saying - the Tiltbridge only converts whatever strength it gets of the Bluetooth signal, and only converts it, keeping the new...

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

I can see my Tilt Hydrometer gravity on the OLED display, and at Tiltbridge.local, but the logging disappeared on Fermentrack, after I closed up the conical lid from an open ferment Weizen beer, to now a closed blow-off. The RSSI of the Tilt that is in the Coni is not very strong at -92, and I...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

I can send you some pictures of what I do. The only thing that may not be doable for you, is a big 55 gallon drum of 35F water. This sits inside my walkin cooler and I pump out of this for the chilled water. you can probably get by with garbage can of water inside a freezer or fridge. Other...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

@Thorrak , when I run sudo docker ps,. after I did a reboot, I got this - Also, now when I try to log onto the IP address of the connected Raspberry Pi, I get 502 Bad Gateway Maybe I will do what Plumbers do, when they do not know Script too well - Reformat a SD card, and reinstall Fermentrack...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

@SurPopp I have been running chilled water with very small inexpensie acquarium pumps, and switching them via Fermentrack and Brewpi for years now. Pumps and Heaters just switch on/off with a 110 vac relay modules, switched by the low voltage from the UNO Seinsmart (or others) I do not use...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Im back to brewing after my normal Summer/fun/too hot to brew. I see I need an update, but after fallowing the instructions, ./install.sh did not work. So I then inserted sudo./install.sh That seemed to get the update moving along but then came back with this message after a while -...

    Brewing with honey

What, or Who, "OP's" beer ? My "biggest problem", is getting the sulfur from the campdon tablets out of the finished beer. After about 4 times, with several purges (burping), through a carbonation stone in the side of my Ss 10 gallon brite tank, and venting out the top, the beer still has some...

    Red X Malt

Has Anyone compared - Great Western Caramel Steam malt, to Bestmalz Red-X ? I absolutely love Red-X! I did a 100% RedX with Saflager 34/70, and all Perle hops, and this was one of my all-time best beers to date (188 batches since 1994) Not sure if Great Western Caramel Steam is the same...

    Brewing with honey

I never did this, but I think that not letting some of the sugar ferment out of the honey, you will have a cloying sweat beer, even if your base beer is a big ABV bomb. Especially if you add what I did - 3 lbs in 10 gallons. I tasted it before it refermented and the sweetness was way too much...

    Brewing with honey

I believe you mean 35-40/how many gallons your adding honey into (35-40 divided by gallons of beer) As you can read in my post above (#35), my 3# added .012 to the SG (4 for each pound of honey) This was in a 10 gallon batch

    Brewing with honey

I just did a blueberry flower honey, wheat beer. I used WLP-029 Kölsch yeast. At near terminal gravity (no more gravity points moving down), I added 3 lbs of the honey to the 10 gallons of beer, fermentation kicked up again fast, then after 3 days, I cold crashed it and added campdon tablets...
