    first home brew competition

I entered this beer into a wort share competition at Coney Island Brewery. It took 2nd Place out of 25 entries. I missed the chance of brewing it on their system by 3 points. The winner was a Chocolate cherry stout. Mine is a Belgian Pale brewed with Circus Peanuts.

    6 pack holder

I cobbled together a wooden 6 pack holder to present to a friend of mine, who is moving out of town. I will be adding 3 bottles of my coffee stout and 3 bottles of a Belgian double.

    Flood of beer in kezeer

Well, after a year of kegging, I have had my first problem. I kegged a Belgian Double yesterday, I went to purge the head space with co and set the seals only to find I had run out of gas. that would have been a non issue by it self, but I also found 2.5 gals of my winter ale in the bottom of...

ball lock qd won't seat on post

I have been trying to put the liquid dq on the post, but it wont lock down. Almost as if the balls won't reach the groove so the locking ring can go down over them. I noticed that the popit sits a little higher than the rest of the post. Could it be the spring under the popit is too tall? Or...

    Chocolate Egg cream Stout

Hello all, I am wanting to clone Jonas Bronck's "Chocolate Egg cream Stout". I have had it a few times, and it does taste like an egg cream that I would have had as a kid growing up in NYC. I have a stout kit from NB, and the Foxes U-Bet chocolate syrup that they use, I just can't figure out...

    Brooklyn Toms' unfinnished Kezzer

I cobbled together a 2x6 inner collar, can't decide on the outer. It will look better when I do. I wanted to get my Belgian dubbel cooled down and in my glass for this weekend. I had it carbing at room temp for a few days at 30psi. Got the kezzer down to 42*F, purged the keg and set regulator to...

    Will this cause a problem?

The top of the post (beer out) has a small dent on it. Being my first keg, I am unsure if the O-ring makes the whole seal or if the top of the post matches to a gasket also. I noticed this after I kegged and conditioned my Belgian Dubbel. I don't want to see it shooting out from under the QD. I...

co2 fill in South Brooklyn, NY

I received my shinny new 5# bottle last week. Not wanting to exchange it for an old beat up one, I started calling every place I could think of, most of them are at least 10 miles away, all wanted to just do exchanges. As I started to get frustrated, a coworker suggested I call a paint ball...

Hello, Pleased to meet you all

I have been making beer for about 2 years now, and do not enjoy bottling. I have been looking to make a kezzer, and found loads of info here. You all seem to be very informative and helpful. I have about 10 brews under my belt at this point. My best seem to be my Irish Red. others done...
