    Wilserbrewerbags vs The Brew Bag

I got three Wilser bags for my different pots and love them all. Excellent quality and great fits. I never used a Brew Bag so not sure about it but I will say the Wilser bag is so ideal I wouldn't want to change.

How am I gonna brew NOW?

Try the no-chill. Putting a fan on it will greatly decrease the time it takes. I'm brewing one now and will be able to pitch yeast when I wake up in the morning. But I've let them sit for over 24 hrs before pitching and haven't had bad luck.

    Liquid Yeast Sux

Use liquid yeast most of the time. 100% good experience. My LHBS sells out dated ones at 1/2 the cost and I buy them if they have what I'm looking for. Make a starter good to go. Never had any issues with them either.

    BIAB induction burner reflectix question?

I just wrap mine around and have a piece of tape to keep it tight. Make sure to make one for your lid also. As long as I make sure the kettle is full I can hold my mash temp with no problem. (I brew inside when its cold out).

Had one that was doing very similar thing. Changed several O-rings used the keg lube, didn't help. Ended up getting a new gas connector and the problem stopped.

    1G Growler or 5L Flask

I use the one gallon growlers and if I off set the growler over my stir plate so the magnet is between the center and side I have no issue with the magnet coming off.

You know you're a home brewer when?

Wife no longer asks "are you going to brew on your days off?" Instead "Do you know what days you will be brewing?"

    First biab sucess, so far!

Went from using a 3 vessel to doing BIAB. My initial reason for changing was to be able to brew inside during the winter and while the wife isn't home and I have the kids. Works great. I would still use my 3 vessel at times but I just got some Wilser bags which I love. One is for my keg so now I...

    Pittsburgh breweries/homebrew shops?

Been to the house of 1000 Beers the place is pretty impressive. There is also a restaurant called sharp edge. They have a very nice selection as well. As far as breweries I go to The Church Brew Works a lot. It's close, they have decent food and beer. I've had beer from Hop Farm, East End...

    Stovetop Brewing?

^ same thing--fan on the counter blowing the steam out the window. Get no condensation build up but without the fan all my windows are covered in moisture.

    Confession Time

I went to rinse the yeast out of my carboy and realized I left the water boiling on the stove. So I grabbed a bottle of water and used that instead. Since then, I used the bottled water for 2 more consecutive generations and so far no issues. I plan on going one more generation before not using...

    cleaning chillers

I use a PC and I backflush the chiller when done. Then throw it in the oven one day while cooking dinner. Give it a rinse after then I'll either use it for brewing or I may throw it back in the oven one more time keeping it sealed up and ready for use. If for some reason I don't use my oven it...

Can anyone recommend a good string trimmer?

The one I bought last year was the first speed feed head I used. I don't mind it, it's easy to use just took some time getting used to. Don't know exactly but it holds a similar amount of string compared to the traditional heads. Not sure if it's luck or design but with the speed feed I never...

Can anyone recommend a good string trimmer?

Shindawa and Echo combined and last year they came out with a model that was supposed to be more designed for the home use. But it ended up being such a good trimmer and cheaper than the heavy duty ones that landscapers are buying them up. I bought one last year and love it. It uses the echo...

    Partial No Chill Question

I have an IC and PC I use in the summer. I do have a swimming pool so I will use that water unless the pool is low then I fill it up while chilling the wort. If I can't get it down to temp I'll put it in my ferm chamber or in a fridge til it's ready to pitch. And if they are full I use the...
