I just did my first BIAB over the weekend (a small 1.5 gal batch to test the waters) and by my math my efficiency was around 67%. I know that's probably not optimal, but what's a good range? I heard in my FLHBS that efficiency works differently for BIAB so I wasn't sure what I should be aiming for.

Garlic is very toxic to both cats and dogs. Obviously depends on the size of the beast but it's more concentrated than onion so takes less to do damage.

When you wash yeast, does the yeast pick up any attributes from the previous batch, based on fermenting temp, grains, or hops? Say you make an IPA using American Ale yeast, and you wash it. Should you then use that washed yeast only to make IPAs or could it be used the same as American Ale...

If it's the season, I watch hockey while I brew. If not, one of a few Pandora stations. And always a beer at the start followed by half+half (tea+lemonade) after the beer is gone.
