Can you actually *buy* a Raspberry Pi these days?

cant believe no one here has posted this yet - Find Raspberry Pi computers in stock - rpilocator alerts and inventory - no MC inventory, but plenty of other shops. In the last few days the dam has broken as it were, I think theyre finally recovering. Things are still selling out because of the...

docker, or whatever the latest script gets you to, just did the fresh install/wipe a few pages back, no worries one thing to note, it seems the usr/local/bin folder is completely empty, but usr/bin is full or stuff Edit: i found it. the right path is just /bin not usr/local/bin. now its...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Just ran into an issue connecting to tilt...when i wiped and fresh installed i feel like it had the connection? but now see this in troubleshooting. When i ran this as is, it said no such file. my 3.9 was in /usr/bin not local...but the current flags seem right? But still no signal/readouts...

yes, im guessing it was related to the half-failed install where one of the handlers? if thats the right term, wasnt loaded to allow the full upload and it defaulted to some other max allowable upload

Thanks - if i wanna be lazy and just delete it from my existing pi and reinstall - is all i need to do delete the folder? i dont see it in my list of installed pkg but may have used the wrong command edit: it installed after killing off redis server, but now it wont load the gui well and gives...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

have you tried just unplugging and replugging in the pi? id say if nothing else, you could delete all the indices for fermentrack and run the setup all over again. all you should need to do then is add the brewpi device back, which should already be on your network. lose profiles and names, but...

how would one migrate from the non-docker to the docker version? will the new auto script move all my settings/etc to the new format? also for the webflasher, i assume i cant flash them over wifi/need to connect via usb yet?

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Ran into a new issue, not sure if known or otherwise. The pi couldn't find the controllers, was looking for the wrong ip address. They got set up looking for the esp numbering, and that's how the management page for connections and details looks. If I change the wifi connection ip from that esp...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

How do i correct the controllers deciding to stop being connected to my network? they seemed to have lost the connection info. Now they are broadcasting a micropython wifi network, but i cant log in to that. is there a password for that? Or am i hosed/need to re-flash? Edit: fixed, the esps for...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Thanks - yea i run a 60w fermwrap then a small pump through the glycol. but seemingly the cool side always runs fine. not sure if a resistive heater really has a large 'startup'? Edit 4 Disregard me I'm an idiot

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

I've found a couple relays burnt out despite lack of handling/use. Wondering if it's a bad batch/manufacturer or if its potentially expected that the relay goes out? Any recommendations for manufacturer? I had gotten a couple sainsmarts but those have both blown, one on my own fidgeting and...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

As someone who runs glycol in the half supported fridge temp schema, the PID loop is spot on with my setup, even with my ferm temp up at 90 and crashing to 50. I have done a few batches already though. I recall the first time or two there was some <1 degree overshoot i think

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Does your A/C unit not have a generic STC type controller already to limit how cold it gets so it doesnt freeze? If not would be the only reason I could see why you would need a second controller...at least with fermentrack, my beer was just at 90F and my chiller at 32, and there was hardly a...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

The typical setup wouldnt have your glycol chiller being plugged into fermentrack controller at all. You would just have the chiller plugged in (infinite cold reservoir) and your pump that circulates the gylcol from the tank to the jacket would be what plugs into the fermentrack controller.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

@rkhanso there is no explicit glycol support (yet). Most of us with Glycol kludge it with just using the fridge temp as the set temperature and using that probe in the beer (and not using the beer temp probe). This doesnt allow use of profiles, but works well enough to party. No need for a...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

maybe this depends on the pi/distro being used? my solution ran teh command within the file structure of the pi rather than the fermentrack folders/venv. maybe this is where the issue came from? some disconnect/association broken between the pi and the venv?

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

In finding the solution, my pi didnt like it when i tried to write the command from a 'remote' folder. if i wrote the sudo....python3.7 from home/pi using the location of /usr/bin/python3.7 it threw an error, same even in the root folder where usr was a subfolder. maybe the referencing system is...

I FIXED IT! thanks google. python is somehow losing/lost admin rights. googling the problem i found some similar issues. not sure which one specifically did the trick, but i ran the following commands from inside the /usr/bin/ folder sudo setcap 'CAP_NET_RAW+eip CAP_NET_ADMIN+eip' python3.7...
