    NEIPA - Pushing Flaked Cereals

Hey All - has anyone experimented with pushing the % of the grist using Flaked cereals. Typical for usage in NEIPAs. Has anyone been experimenting using them upwards of 50-60% or more of the grist? Most recipes call for 10-20% but I was wondering the impact of taking them 2x or 3x that. Looking...

    NEIPA first recipe

Get it into the keg after about 2 weeks or so. It will still need 7-14 days in the Keg to condition. It usually takes my NEIPAs (12-16oz. for hops for 5 gallons) that amount of time to get rid of the "grassy" note. You will get a good beer if your ferm goes well.

    Caramelize citrus first?

When you say caramelize, what process are you talking about? Are you going to roast the fruit in an oven? Sear it in a pan? Torch it with a blowtorch? Or maybe coat it in sugar and then do any of those processes above? I would be worried about adding to much of the burnt sugar notes to the beer...

Designing a beer, seeking some knowledge.

I have two fruit Beers going right now. A Mandarin NEIPA and a Tart Cherry Wheat. I have done a few other batches as well. Northeastern IPA question?

Use loose hops - Skip the Bag. You'll have more loss but better utilization. Or you could get two bags and do both additions with them. No WRONG way to do it. Use some sanitized SS pie weights or glass marbles to weigh down the Hop Bags if you are going to use them.

cryo hops/lupulin powder dry hopping question

Has anyone just added them free floating to a Keg for Dry Hop? Do they settle out quickly or do you get little bits of hops in your brew for the whole keg? Has anyone tried this?

    U1/108 APA Today.

That's true. The U1/108 is 18.2% AA which is insanely high IMO. They smelled pretty good. It's experimental for a reason I guess. It's a lottery beer. Could be amazing could be junk.

    Green hop flavor

Some of my NEIPAs need up to 2 weeks before they lose that grassy note. Once they carb up they mellow.

    U1/108 APA Today.

Starting an American Pale with Experimental U1/108 hops only. Description of Hops are very promising: Lychee, Mango, Guava, Citrus, Lemongrass, Stone Fruit, Coconut. Going to pitch the Omega Tropical IPA Yeast as well to see how juicy I can make this thing.
