Belgian Dark Strong Ale Rochefort 8 clone (as close as you can get)!

Dang, yeah that is a crazy low reading. Maybe take another reading with a different hydrometer? haha. Belgian yeasts have been known to do some crazy things, and since you made a starter from a bottle sample something weird may of happened there... Did you use any temperature control during...

    Weissbier König Ludwig Weissbier Clone

I am going to attempt a König Ludwig Weissbier Clone. I am currently enthralled by this beer as it is a very flavorful and refreshing authentic Bavarian Hefeweizen. I have brewed the recipe below with Wyeast 3056 but this time I am going to culture yeast from König Ludwig bottles in order to...

Succesfully cloned "Konig Ludwig" yeast (with picts)

I love König Ludwig hefe! I am perhaps a little obsessed with it ATM. There is a nice little pub in my town that has it on draft, and Total Wine has it in bottles for a good price. I am a big fan of Bavarian Weissbiers in general, and I think I could say I have tried every single Weissbier...

Cheapest, Easiest way to brew a lot! (3 gallon All-Grain Batches!)

I tried out BIAB and it is clearly the better way to go! I hit 80% efficiency on my first go at it. :) Just changed everything in the post from mash tun to BIAB! How does a thread like this become a sticky?

Cheapest, Easiest way to brew a lot! (3 gallon All-Grain Batches!)

Yes, I can't argue against this being a lower priced alternative. I've never done BIAB myself, so I can't give a good opinion about it. I think you've inspired me to try it! It would certainly make this guide considerably more budget worthy. And I think BIAB is perfect for a 3 gallon batch...

Cheapest, Easiest way to brew a lot! (3 gallon All-Grain Batches!)

Thanks! I've done 2.5 gallon batches in 5 gallon buckets as well, it works great especially if you're doing a high gravity batch. You would just collect about 3.25 gallons of wort and boil down to 2.5 gallons, and everything else would stay the same. When I first started brewing I was doing 1...

Cheapest, Easiest way to brew a lot! (3 gallon All-Grain Batches!)

Hello everyone, I've been happy with the cost savings, ease, and frequency of my brewing process, so I thought I'd share it with you. Any comments/corrections/ratings would be greatly appreciated! :) ***Further improved process to use BIAB instead of mash tun on 2/28/15*** Cheapest, Easiest...

    2009 Dechutes Jubelale

yay jubelale is back in stores again! I'm a jubelale lover as well, and I picked myself up some as well. 3 weeks ago I brewed your recipe and I am just about to rack to my bottling bucket. I made a few slight adjustments to the recipe to take into account the changes that Jimmy from deschutes...

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Rochefort 8 clone (as close as you can get)!

wow yeah this recipe is identical to Monk-Y-Shines. It must of somehow come from the same source!

    Help Me Spend $200!

This is what I do and it works awesome! My pot is only 8 gallons, so it only just barely covers two burners on my gas stove. I get to a boil in about 30 minutes, or a bit a faster if i start heating my wort halfway through the sparging process(which is the way I do it). I drain out a couple...
