Anyone ever use hops in boil from dry hop?

I brewed a beer a while back. Just a pale ale if I remember. Primary into secondary, into keg. After it was in the keg I was unhappy with the bitterness so I dry hopped it with 2 oz of an unknown hop. Crystal I think. Anyway after a day, I tryed beer and it was turning grassy so I panicked...

    Cream of three Infections

Well it happened to me. My first, second and maybe my third infection. The first was a Mr Beer can of pre-hopped extract a coworker gave me to brew for him. He heard I brewed and seemed interested. His wife got word of his interest and bought him a Mr Beer kit with 2 beers. He "brewed" one and...

    80' ground water, counterflow?

My ground water is north of 80' so the 25 foot immersion isnt doing crap. Will a 25' counter flow work to bring the wort down to less than 100? An hour to mash an hour to boil and an hour to cool is getting old.

Calling this Buck's Rye Knott First recipe I have created that I would like to share. Only thing is the crystal is a guesstimate because I made it myself. asked a few buddies and we cam up with the equivalent below. Keg just kicked and it was great. The rye spice came thru nicely. I...

Did I just hit 75+ eff?

I guess I can call myself a brewer now

Well I couldn't wait any longer. I tried one of my first ever home brewed beers. Two actually! NOT TOO BAD! If I say so myself. It wont win any awards I don't think but for my first ever attempt I think it is just fine and will only get better since its only been in bottles for 7 days. I felt...
