    First Time BIAB Question

Mine missed and it was because I mashed way to hot. I didn't calibrate my mechanical thermometer after it arrived so instead of 156 i got 162 and my beer finished at 1.026 after 4 weeks. It's been bottled now for 2ish months and hasn't blown a bottle yet.

    Muddy Creek Brewery: Hot Break!

Stopped by the Brewery today and got a tour from the brewmaster. Also got to sample some more of the fabulous beers made there. Definately worth a stop if your in the neighborhood or even close. We drove over from Helena and made a day out of it. Greg visited with us and showed us around...

    Red X Malt

Had a few problems with my first BiaB so this beer didn't turn out as wonderful as I had hoped. Tastes good but cloudy so no picture. Will try again when I get the process down.

    Beersmith 2.2.12 water question.

I purchase reverse osmosis water to brew with and I would like to add the cost into my totals. Per the Beersmith help I should be able to adjust inventory levels and cost, but I can't figure out how. I have found how to set price and inventory levels for everything else...

    Actual fermentation temps

Yea I was a little spooked the first time I saw it about 25 years ago. I didn't have internet to see if it was normal, so the first drink, of the finished beer, I was fully prepared to spit out.

    Seasoning a NEW rifle barrel

I don't have the tools to spot burrs down the barrel so I will continue to season with the shoot, clean, shoot clean, method, to hopefully retain the intrinsic accuracy of the barrel as well as potentially extend its accuracy lifespan. Each person has to determine what they want performance...

    Seasoning a NEW rifle barrel

from BallisticStudies: Sometimes, a rifle barrel may have a burr on the rifling land edge, seen as long flake. If the burr is thick, hand lapping operations will fail to break it away from the land. Worse still, if the rifle has been fired several times, the burr becomes forged into a lump type...
