    Which style should I brew

It's a bit of a complex question and there are a few factors to consider: 1. Water values: My last few brews had a harsh bitter aftertaste that I blame on the (presumably high) bicarbonate levels in the tap water that I use. After searching for solutions in my area, the only option I came up...

    bitter taste- review my process

My last few beers had an unpleasant bitter taste\after-taste. I brewed a beer today, and I wanna try to make sure this one is not too bitter. One thing that I noticed today (unfortunately it was too late to change anything at that point) is that my northen brewer hops are ~10% AA and the recipe...

    sanitizing without a sanitizer

I've been using iodine to sanitize my bottles, but now I've become paranoid that it makes my beer taste bitter. It will also be a while until I can get my hands on some starsan. Aaaand I don't own a dishwasher. Is there any other possible way for me to sanitize my bottles reliably?

I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me with a recommendation for the type of sugar and the amount I should...

Airlock activity stopped - why not bottle?

Hi, I'm making a Belgian triple. In the recipe it said that the guy let it ferment for 14 days, but he would recommend fermenting for 21 days since it's a heavy beer. I pitched 2 baggies of yeast and it started vigorously fermenting within 3-4 hours and continued for 5-6 days. Now I've...

First brew - a few questions

So I brewed some amber ale and put it in a 5 gallon container to ferment. I did the newbie mistake of not re-hydrating the yeast, so it took around 40 hours for the fermentation to start. It went on bubbling for a couple of days and then stopped. The temp in the room was bellow 50 so I moved it...
