Which to use Irish Moss or Whirlfloc?

Hey guys, Okay, I'm asking because I'm a new guy. I've been doind canned wort extracts with hopped LME. I have only started to hear about this, but here's my question: What the heck is whirlflock? A clarifying agent? I don't get it. I thought the beer I made was pretty clear and...

    Extract kits in a can?

I have only used Coopers because it was what I was introduced to. Ok, granted, I've only ever done 2. Coopers Pilsner, and Coopers IPA. The Pilsner I did the way my friend told me to (no boiling just putting it all together) and it actually turned out pretty darn good. I did it all with...

Brewing first IPA this weekend - NEED HELP

I just did my IPA and it's now racked. Same can as you. Difference is that I boiled my LME (1kg) and didn't boil the can. Just added the can to the fermenter with the boiled LME. I've done this with coopers pilsner before and the result was pretty good too! I'm hoping for a similar result...

Just told the wife your idea and about cleaning them. She said it's all the lard or shortening they use. Can make it hard to clean out. But I'll wait till tomorrow when the kids are in school to start looking around. Thanks again! Great idea!!

Did I just do an ooops???

I think I'm still going to take it from my fermentor pail into the Carboy tomorrow and just let it sit in there for a couple weeks. I already had it planned out to bottle near the end of the month. So I think I'm just going to put it in the Carboy and let it go.... Thanks everyone!

Did I just do an ooops???

Good evening everyone, need some help/advise! So Monday morning, I put brewed up my Coopers IPA using just under 1kg of Light Malt Extract and had a sustained temperature of 21-22 Celcius for the fermentation. Now, on Tues and most of Wed, there was some good foam on the top. But, then I...

    What's it called???

Thanks guys for the reply. For me, I think I'm happy sticking with extract or HME brewing for now. I like the finished product and until I have more time on my hands and patients I will stick with it. I have been using Coopers (most available one in my area). Have you ever tried...

    Bottling

I was wondering, what are your thoughts to slowly adding the priming while you rack your beer from the carboy? It would be mixed great and almost guarantee an even mixture with no need to stir or over expose for oxidization... thoughts?

    What's it called???

Greeting beer lovers! Okay, so I am curious. Right now, I have only done one batch and it was using a canned wort (coopers pilsner). I loved it! I think what I loved the best though was the simplicity of it all. Now, I know I'll get people telling me to brew my own grains and what not, but...

What to add, and how much?

I've also been looking around the forums to help learn some terms. Do you guys have any links that I can use? For example, when I say I used a canned wort of Coopers Pilsner, is that an extract? Or is that a different variety? Sorry for so many questions guys, noob learning here!

What to add, and how much?

WOW! Guys, thanks a million for the replies. I'm sure to try them all. I do know I'll be sticking to canned worts right now and maybe in the future when my confidence is up, look at grains and mashes and the like. I'm still learning.

What to add, and how much?

Greetings beer lovers! I have recently been introduced to home brewing and have fallen in love with it. I did a batch of Coopers Pilsner, using a canned wort, 1.2kg of Lquid Light Malt Extract, and primed it with about 170g of dextrose before bottling. Now, the problem: I had my friend...
