    Kegging in a vacuum

Cool, I'll remember that. Good input. I won't be experimenting with a vacuum pump anytime soon. I will do research about this and get back to everybody to see if there is any benefit in it.

    Kegging in a vacuum

I have a vacuum pump that I use on big commercial rooftop units pulling a vacuum down to 800 to a thousand microns, it will suck a 30 pound jug of liquid refrigerant in a heartbeat into the rooftop unit. Just thinking that the transfer of beer into a keg without filling the headspace with CO2...

    Kegging in a vacuum

Am a heating and air tech. My question is if there are any HVAC techs that brew, have you ever pulled a vacuum on a keg ( negative pressure ) to fill it from a Carboy or a bucket? This would result in no oxygen in keg, theoretically no need for co2 and it would suck the beer into it. Any...

    Still fermenting

Treed two weeks ago my first big beer a Belgium ale, was expecting around a 1.100 OG and hit 1.090, satisfied with my first attempt, pitched with white labs 400, after two days I pitched a California common ale yeast and it is still fermenting, I haven't taken any gravity readings and never do...

8 pounds of two row, 1 pound of a mix of four different grains I don't have the recipe in front of me so I can't remember, 8 pounds of pure pumpkin I roasted and added to the mash, mashed for a total of 90 minutes, at the end of the boil I added three quarters of a cup of brown sugar and a half...

Conditioning in Fridge: Is it Possible?

I have a refrigerator specifically for fermenting my beer, The top of the refrigerator holds whatever is fermenting, The lower half holds beer that is aging after bottling, my refrigerator maintains 55 to 60°, i'm not hundred percent sure but I think at cooler temperatures it takes longer, I...

    My OG is too high

This is my second batch of a pumpkin ale, The first batch the OG was a little high 1.060, since I have brewed the first batch of pumpkin I have changed my mash tun, several steel braided hoses and a motor and mixer to stir by mash, I knew that my efficiency has increased but I didn't think it...

I finally did it. Ultra high mash yield, too high actually. Strong Pumpkin Ale

I changed my tun from a 1/2" copper rack with holes in it to braided hose and I was finally able to brew bigger beer higher than 1.060 and I would also have to say it increased my efficiency

I finally did it. Ultra high mash yield, too high actually. Strong Pumpkin Ale

I brewed a high gravity Belgian ale for my son over the weekend, I used a white labs high gravity Belgium ale yeast and after 48 hours nothing at 60° in my refrigerator, pitched a packet of yeast and within eight hours it took off like a rocket, I had to drop the temperature in the refrigerator...
