Simple Blonde Partial Mash for review

Bottled this brew two nights ago. It attenuated well down to 1.013, which is excellent. My interior closet stayed a nice 66-68 for the duration. Smell was superb, and 2 gallons were bottled with 1 oz of strawberry extract (~half the recommended amount/volume, because I heard it was really...

Northern Brewer Bubbler - something is wrong

I swish a gallon of starsan around in the carboy before I fill it with fermented goodness, but you do make a good point, and I may give it a try. In addition, yesterday afternoon I rinsed out the carboy with starsan and lots of hot water, and then added about a gallon of cold, filtered water...

Northern Brewer Bubbler - something is wrong

I sanitize it the same way I do my HDPE buckets. Using properly mixed starsan. Tubing might be a good thing to replace, as it is being siphoned twice instead of once.

Northern Brewer Bubbler - something is wrong

I've been using store-bought spring water and occasionally brita filtered tap (when I don't buy enough). Brews done concurrently with the above-listed ones that were not in the Bubbler tasted great.

A few random things this noob has learned along the way.

I can't wait till I can accomplish #4. Crappy apartment + nosey toddler make for a sticky situation in that regard. Cheers! 1 & 3 are priceless.

Northern Brewer Bubbler - something is wrong

So last summer I bought a 5 gallon Northern Brewer Bubbler so I could start doing some secondary fermentations on more complex brews. I've been brewing about 2 years and ~15/18 brews under my belt, some good, some bad, none ugly...until I tried doing secondaries with the Bubbler. I have made...

Simple Blonde Partial Mash for review

Brewed this tonight and achieved 60% efficiency, which equates to 4.5 gallons of 1.054 wort. Not bad for a first try. If I had a second kettle it would probably go better, as I would be able to dunk the grain bag into the sparge water, rather than just pouring the water over the grain bag with...

    Unnecessary brewing practices

Replying to this so I can find it later to try with my mini fridge :) Sent from my Nexus 4 using Home Brew mobile app

    Single Fermentation

You should be ok. Has the fruit been in the fermenter the whole time? If so, then there might be problems, but I've never done a beer that way, so I'm not the right person to answer that. Sorry. Good luck!:D

Simple Blonde Partial Mash for review

Bear with me for formatting. This is my first post, though I've been brewing hybrid extract for about two years, and searching this site for my needs for about ~18 months. I thought I would share a recipe, get some feedback, and maybe ask a question or three from our more experienced brewers...
