    Sip of Sunshine Yeast

The Pliny recipe is from the book IPA Brewing Techniques, Recipes and the Evolution of India Pale Ale by Mitch Steele. They don't give the exact recipe, only percentages and statistics. Easy enough to figure out though.

I'd like to know your thoughts when you taste. I'm brewing a Pliny the Elder clone tomorrow with 1056.

    Sip of Sunshine Yeast

Don't know for sure, but the fruity/juicyness of SoS sure reminds me of Conan IPAs. Plus all the clones out there seem to use Vermont Ale/Conan. Either that or 1056 will make a great SoS clone. Brew on!

Belgian Tripel finished with Brett B question

I brewed 10 gallons of my Tripel recipe recently that got split into 2 five gallon carboys. Both are fermenting with Wyeast 3522 Belgian Ardennes. ABV will be around 9.8 when done with secondary. I bottle using corn sugar and adding more yeast (Nottingham Dry Yeast). Results come out perfect...

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

It's called sheet Armaflex (1" thick). It's an insulation used in the HVAC industry. Had extra from a job and it came in good use.

Anyone try Lawson's Super Session #2?

Totally agree with this. Had it on tap here in Newtown, CT. Okay, but nothing special like Sip O'.

Anyone else annoyed with newer breweries using cans?

1-you can smash cans on your head when done drinking 2-you can poke a hole near bottom of said can and "shotgun" it 3-you can poke little holes in side of said empty can and smoke "tobacco" from it Cans=AWESOME!

    Citra Pale Ale

Recipe looks great. I've made 3 Citra Pale Ales in the past year trying to perfect it. I use US pale, Flaked wheat and Crystal 10. Like it light. ABV is identical. My IBU is a little lower. Only use Citra. Experimented with 3 different yeasts. 1056, 1028 and 1098. Liked the way 1056 came...

Dry Hop For a Pale Ale

I make a Citra Pale Ale often that I dry hop with 3 oz. of Citra. SWMBO loves it, drinks lots of it and it makes me happy.

    Opinions needed!

Wort chiller. Although nice to have there is no need for the washer and tree. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Have some various hops...what do you guys think?

Doesn't hurt to try. I would cut down to .5 lb of crystal and maybe add .5 lb of flaked wheat for some head retention though. I'd drink it...but WHO am I?;)
