    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I've always used a 25% per year viability loss estimate for old hops. That said, I'd dryhop with twice as much. Were they discounted or something?

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

The kits at BevMo! go on clearance because the ingredients are near or past expiry. I don't know how long they sit, but it's got to be a while. I had lazy yeast in one kit, so I repitched from some that I harvested and propagated. They're well worth the price just for the hardware included IMO!

    diet beer

^It is because your innards cannot properly convert food while processing the alcohol in your system. While your liver is busy thanking you for the onslaught, you are storing a good portion of what you eat as fat. You might try creating an adjunct lager... I enjoy Miller Lite if I'm drinking...

    NB Bomber Barelywine FG?

What was your O.G.? If it was around 1.100 you're most likely pretty close. +1 on what k_mcarthur said as well.

    tips to improve biab effeciency

I have found these things to push my BIAB efficiency upward by quite a bit. My mash efficiency in the high 80s, occasionally in the 90s depending on the gravity of the beer I'm going for. Last batch was supposed to be 1.088, I got 1.090 OG without breaking a sweat. 1. Use an accurate...

Show us your DIY stir plate!

12v 3-speed fan wired to a cellphone charger, agitates nice and quietly. I just superglued the magnets to the fan hub and added cabinet bumper pads above and below for appropriate clearance. Using a 1 x 3/8 stir bar. ~Eric

    Help piece together a burner

I may be wrong but that looks like an adjuster for the fuel/air mixture. Propane should flow through the center. Does the regulator not connect there? It looks threaded from here.

Orange Carboy Cap and blow off

Check the SG. 3 weeks is about bottle time for my normal gravity brews. If it was bubbling at a point the seal is probably adequate. If not, it's leaky.

    Fermentation re-started after dry-hop?

Yeah it was clear, both cleared up within one week. I waited until the 2 week mark to dryhop for five days, cold crash for 2, then bottle. Failed this time, I guess. :) The only thing I can think of is that it was disturbed somehow by taking it to the counter and adding the hops. Last I...

    Fermentation re-started after dry-hop?

Oh well, I've got more homegrown hops I can throw at it. ;) It's surely scrubbing the aromas. I can smell it every time I open the cabinet.

    Storing leaf hops

I use a double zip freezer bag and roll the air out with a rolling pin before sealing. For pellets, I just squeeze the air out and call it good. You can use a vacuum bagging system if you're dedicated. I toss mine in the freezer. No problems yet.

    Fermentation re-started after dry-hop?

I'll do that, but I'm gonna wait it out until the activity dies down. It's definitely fermenting again.

    Fermentation re-started after dry-hop?

Hi all, I was just about to cold crash these two before bottling as they've been dry-hopped for five days. When I opened the cabinet, I noticed that the one on the right looks visibly "churny" almost like it's started fermenting again. These have been in the primaries for just under 3 weeks...
