    Flat lager

Yes this was a beer kit that everything was just packaged up. I did add priming sugar as I transferred it into keg. Is it at this stage I should have put it in colder temps?

    Flat lager

Hi, when you talk about dropping the temperature for fermenting, at what stage should I do this? I've just mixed a new batch and added the yeast. The instructions say to leave at warm temp for 4-6 days or until Hydrometer level drops to below 1006. Then it says to bottle or keg and put in a...

    Flat lager

I'm a bit new to this so not sure how I would have carbonated - however I did my 1st stage fermentation for approx 3 weeks. Initially at 22-24 degrees then cooler at 18. I then transferred into a pressure keg where's it's been standing for the last 3 weeks at 16-18 degrees. Thanks

    Flat lager

Hi I've brewed a lovely tasting lager however it is flat. I have added more CO2 using a small canister bulb - this has provided the lager with a better head but the beer itself is still lifeless. Anything else I can do? I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks

    Pressure barrel leaking air

Hi, I currently have a lager in my 2nd fermentation stage pressure barrel. I sampled a little bit earlier and it came out flat. I inserted a gas bulb into the top and immediately noticed a hissing sound at the top of the barrel. Obviously there is air escaping, my question is whether or not...

    Antiseptic taste

Hi I've just done my first ever batch of lager having previously done 2 batches of real ale. However my lager has a real TCP/antiseptic aftertaste to it! I've read that it could be to do with the steriliser I used but what is the best way to avoid this happening again?! Thanks

    1st time!

I've tried slowing the pour down but no good! How do I go about reducing the pressure? Can I tilt the barrel back so no beer comes out then open the tap briefly? Thanks for your help - I'm really enjoying it just need more experience I suppose! How can I stop this happening again next time?

    1st time!

Hi I've just poured my first glass of IPA from my first ever homebrew batch. I've got it in a pressurised keg and when I've poured it out it was extremely frothy! Is this just my poor pouring skills or a problem? Beer tastes great and is clear!
