Iowa Wooden BIAB Cart with Kettle and Burner and immersion chiller

I have officially upgraded my entire setup to eBIAB in my basement so I am parting with my garage setup. I am selling the cart, kettle, burner, and diy immersion chiller. $250 takes all of it.

SHOW OFF: Basement Brewery cleaning sinks

I just finished moving my whole operation from propane brewing in the garage to eBAIB in my basement. The sink was a Craigslist find, the faucet was this guy: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072BXCZVQ?tag=forumyield-20

    Bag hoist/hanging...any pics?

I built a hoist into my mobile brew cart, my objective was to build the cheapest cart possible because I am saving up for an indoor EBIAB setup.

    Wooden BIAB Stand

I thought this design was good enough to replicate. Here is the version that I built:

    spin off of explain efficiency

One thing that helped me was my mash thickness. I start with a full volume of water and I don't add any water at any time. I brew 5 gallon batches, and I typically start with between 7.5 and 8 gallons of water. This volume includes water that will be lost to the grain and boil-off, and I am...

    BIAB Mash Recirculation

I saw a pretty nice little boost in efficiency when I added recirc (from ~70 to ~80). I recirculate with a 12v solar water heater pump, I already had a ball valve on my kettle, so the only other addition was to solder a small copper manifold onto the lid of my kettle. Other than efficiency, I...

    STC-1000 Kegerator Question

I do not have a heater hooked to either of mine and it works fine. I use one to control ferm temps in a small dorm fridge, the other controls the temps in my kegerator.

    Wilserbrewerbags vs The Brew Bag

I use The Brew Bag, I like the strap loops for lifting and transporting. I lift my bag out of the kettle with a rope and pulley, then I let it hang over the kettle while I squeeze. I have brewed 10 to 15 batches with the bag and it seams to be holding up well.

Ever Replace a Refrigerator Door with a Glass Door?

I used two sheets of plexiglass with a void space in between, and I purged the void space with CO2 to get rid of moisture. Also, the fridge was actually a freezer intended to maintain much lower temps than what I am asking it to do, so while I certainly did lower the efficiency a lot, it...

Ever Replace a Refrigerator Door with a Glass Door?

I have one of those convenience store fridges that I use as a kegerator. I replaced the tempered glass with two layers of plexiglass so that I could put the taps through the glass. I realize this isn't the most relevant because the door already had glass in it, but if you can figure out how...

    Another grain mill question

I've got about $225 into my mill: cereal killer mill - $125 Used drill press motor - $20 (benchtop drill press from garage sale) 12"Ø v-belt pulley - $40 v-belt - $12 lumber for cart - $20 light switch and junction box - $8 EDIT: The motor had a v-belt pulley on it (from the drill press) so...

    Mill stand

I am still running a cheap barley crusher that I picked up a few years ago. I built a cart and motor figuring that I would soon be upgrading. I am running a 2" diameter pulley on the motor and 12" diameter pulley on the mill. The motor is a 1/6 HP motor that I pulled off of an old drill...

    Trouble motorizing a grain mill

I ran into the same issue. I rigged up the shaft of my cereal killer to a heavy duty rubber band and a cordless drill to make a makeshift lathe. I used a coarse file to take down the thickness of the shaft just enough to fit the 2" sheave on the shaft. It was still a little tight so I used...

    Side-by-Side and Top-Freezer which for fermenting/kegging?

One of my favorite side-by-side builds is the combo kegerator/fermentation chamber. I remember seeing this: https://imgur.com/a/BezCj a few months ago.
