    2015 Hop garden photo thread

    South Louisiana hops doing alright. 43 inches of rain over last three months and now blazing hot but these 4 yr old cascade and centennial are beast.

    Some friends in BR have successfully grown chinook and cascade for the last few years. Plant facing east with some sort of protection from sun in late afternoon and water the shut out of them first year. Last year I filled 5 gallon bucket with 3 centennial plants 2nd yr

    I've successfully grown centennial in East Feliciana Parish the last three years. My cascades are still alive after two years but have never produced. Every other type I've tried including nugget, Golding, fuggle, and few others have died during hear of summer.

    Aging in kegs

    Been aging in kegs couple years now. Conditioned one for 11months in a dark cool closet. Usually keep 10psi on it for a couple days then disconnect and allow to age gracefully. Little bit of carbonation but not much. Then force carb when ready to drink.

    I'm with you guys and not complaining. My hop cones are huge on my 4 yr old plants. If my tomatoes come early they get eaten early. If my hops start to dry early I make beer early. Easyeasy
