You are right about that. I was wrong about the antioxin. The post that suggested that on another board is clearly speculation. I apologize for reading that as fact and posting it here.
The color issues of their recipe someone mentioned at some point in this thread and the sulfur of Heady are both because of Low Oxygen brewing. Antioxin in particular. Low oxygen brews can have a 20 percent lighter color than expected and sulfur is a sometime byproduct of sodium metabisulfite.
This thread has been one of the best I have read in a while. A few people planned to ferment using the split yeast. Has anyone finished out their fermentation yet? I would love to hear the results.
Oops, there was a response that came in as I wrote this!
I highly recommend the hopblocker as opposed to a spider. My ipa's were much more pronounced with free floating. The spider I used tended to create a glop in the strainer bag that didn't utilize the hops fully.
I am in search of one. This list would be a great tool.
I think the igloo 4.6 would fit a carboy.

I am finally going to make the jump and buy my own mill and buy bulk grain. Is it ok to go cheap or is it worth it to buy a more expensive one. Should I lay out 250+ for a grain gobbler or is it ok to get a schmidling or barley crusher.
