    First All Grain under my belt

    So happy my first all grain turned out well. Made an American Pale Ale with fresh cascade hops. Turned out so good. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Black chips in boil

    It's started boiling an IPA and noticed black chips floating in the wort. I have a stainless steel kettle so it shouldn't be that. Could it be burnt extract or corn sugar? Regardless, should I pitch it now?

    Yeast temperature

    I brewed a batch of imperial blonde ale last night and got tired of waiting for the wort to cool to 70 degrees. When I poured it in the fermenter it was about 80 degrees when I pitched the yeast. Did I ruin it by pitching at too high a temperature?
