Looking for 3 way SS Motorized Valves

wow, when the Aliexpress price is $65, I know I REALLY wouldn't like the more legitimate version's price!

    Getting a brew creamier

It has been mentioned to some degree, but the use of lactose is largely what turns a stout into a milk stout. If that is the kind of creaminess you are looking for, then lactose could be your answer!

There's another sub $2k can seamer out, AND they sell cans!

Aha! That makes me think that getting a homebrew club together to buy one of these might really be the best idea. A lot of people to spread the cost over, and enough can volume so that shipping hurts less. I guess that if it was one of those homebrew shops that brew on premise then they could...

There's another sub $2k can seamer out, AND they sell cans!

Why would it be a showstopper? I think one can't really can-condition, so it's always carbonated beer going into the cans. I don't see why the headspace would be a big deal. Are you worried about 100% full beers spraying when they are opened?

Anyone use RTIC or YETI bottles for bottling?

yeah I imagine you'd have a bomb by now if you were ever going to have one.

There's another sub $2k can seamer out, AND they sell cans!

I don't think this will end up in my house, but it's still pretty cool to see the market open up like this. https://canseamer.myshopify.com/products/mk16-can-seamer There's a video on this fb page They have a similar machine to the crowler seamers, but it looks to not be automatic, and it is...

    The Joy of Continuous Brewing

how did the hot pitch brew turn out? could you pick out any negative differences? That's a bold move, but it could definitely simplify a few things...

    heat exchange question

I also would be worried about clogging the therminator. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes though! I've clogged pumps recircing in a similar manner. They have way bigger ID than a therminator. Do let us know how it goes - experimental results beat a bunch of guesses any day!

    7-Tap Black Iron Pipe Kegerator

That's a beautiful build. I'm guessing you used the metal patch that the taps connect to (instead of threading them through the side of the pipe) in order to make swapping lines and assembly a bit easier? It seems like this way you don't have to thread/unthread any pipe to change a line. I like...

    PicoBrew Zymatic

Agreed - I think there is so much potential there. I understand that none of these appliances are aimed at super techy people (the kind that would build it themselves), but I am surprised I havent seen any of the more curious owners take it apart and share photos. I'd love to see what is going...

    PicoBrew Zymatic

I've emailed with the developers before. They said that they were still interested in releasing the code, but they couldn't do it yet because they didn't have the developer manpower to do it right. To be clear, that's not open source (i.e. as sold.) I eventually gave up on the idea of...

The Dysfunctional-Palooza Obnoxious Masshole BS Thread

Is there anyone in Boston that has a picobrew pico? I'm trying to get my hands on a lid to see how the rfid works.

    Arduino Based Brew Controller

I'm in a similar spot as you having half started this project once for an espresso machine, and again for rims a year or so again. Did you look into any of the open source projects that already do this? I'm torn between starting from the ground up or leveraging preexisting code.

    Anyone getting (got) a Synek?

It sounds like you might be force carbing room-temp beer - is that right? Unless you're at a MUCH higher pressure than usual it seems like that may be putting unneeded pressure on your bag. Also it sounds like you're disconnecting the co2 between fills - am I correct? If so then that will take a...

    Small n Automated

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the picobrew pico. It brews 5L batches, and it's fully automated up until the chill (unless you no-chill I guess.) https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1708005089/pico-craft-beer-at-home The kickstarter has ended, but they were selling units for $599 last I...

    picobrew zymatic questions

I think that the grainfather has a nice product but it requires more involvement than the zymatic. How much time & interest you can have with your brew should determine your choice. From what I read the zymatic doesn't require any interaction between hitting go and the start of chilling. I think...

    Beer Smith or Beer Friend??

I've never used brewers friend, but I don't regret buying beersmith one bit. It has so many features that I don't use yet - I've got a lot of room to grow before I even utilize it fully.

Help modifying a 12 point 13/16" socket for pin lock keg

I did the same exact thing. It worked. Unless you have a lot more metalworking ability this seems to be the easiest way to make this tool.

Low BTUs- pump pure O2 into the burner??

I think we've already beaten this subject dead - I'd only add that the o2 cost would quickly add up to the price of a nicer propane burner. Consider just getting one with more btus or shielding it better from the wind.

Can I get some feedback on a RIMS Build?

If you aren't looking to spend a ton of coin then you could focus on simply hitting your initial mash temp better. I used an anova sous vide machine (shaped like an immersion blender) on my last brew and it hit and held my mash temp perfectly. Some people are concerned about using it during the...
