    Hosehead Brewery

I dont think this is stepping on anyone's toes since Corey seems to be out of the game right now. When I corrupted my SD card he sent me this email with links for the 5BC. Its a pretty easy process to reformat the SD card with the image below using the instructions also below. I definitely...

    Random Picture Thread

Probably because of the recent influx of places selling edible cookie dough (that happens to be cooked flour then they may cookie dough with that).

    Firkin hop infuser (Randall)

Necro post. has anyone tried using a normal canister Randall on a gravity-fed cask? I’m imagining hooking a length of tubing to the spout that connects to a tee, with one side going to the Randall input with a picnic tap on the end and the other just the plain beer. Does this seem possible...

    BRÜLOSOPHY 2021 GENERAL HOMEBREWER SURVEY

The form asks if you want to answer those questions, not sure if that was in there originally or they changed the survey. Assuming, they want to see what correlations they can extract based on race/age/gender/orientation/etc

    Single Decoction for BIAB

Read the Zymurgy from May/June 2019 there is a section about Decoction (pages 46-49) and they describe Earl'sches method. I've used this method a few times for my Oktoberfest and it definitely works and makes enough of a difference to justify the extra time/effort

Why no higher end picnic taps?

Since no one has apparently used the Pluto guns... if you want a fancy seeming picnic tap, these will fit the bill. The only gripe I have is that you do have to adjust them to get the proper tension to open and close them. It’s easy to do and once it’s setup shouldn’t need to be messed with...

    can I ask this question?

There's a calculator in Beersmith that you take a refractometer and hydrometer sample at FG that will estimate OG then you can find ABV from that.

    Which electric controller?

Separate point, but I doubt you'd need/want a 5500W RIMs element. I would think you would use a 5500w element in the HLT or boil kettle to bring to strike temp. I know the 240v RIMs Rocket from Blichmann is only 3500w.

    BIAB Help

I feel all funny responding to a BIAB post right below Wilser and Bobby. for a 2 gallon batch, I agree with Bobby a bit more, I don't think there is much of a benefit of recircing. If you want to go the route of recirculating, get a valve between the pump outlet and the kettle and run it at...

    Imperial A34 Julius yeast

Im going to let you in on a secret, there's this stuff they used to sell it in the mall, called Orange Julius. I have a feeling that the "Most sought after beer in the world" took some naming rights from that same source.
