    Welch's Grape Juice Wine

I made about three batches using 2 cans of frozen concentrate per gallon with various others fruit flavors. These finally mellowed out after about 6 months but were thin or flavor weak. I made 2 batches using 4 cans of frozen concentrate back in May. These have sort of got a brownish look to...

    Wine from Welch's concentrate

I'm still trying to refine these so they don't taste so weak and hot. I tried the 4can approach which was a disaster on both batches, super bitter, and back sweetening with sugar is a waste of time also. EL-YUCKO! Next batch, I'll just add sorbate and welches as a backsweetener to bring back...

    Welch's Grape Juice Wine

Okay so with these supermarket concentrates, when you get down to 1.000 in the primary in just a few days (used V1116) is it really a good idea once racked to secondary to let it continue with those tiny bubbles? I don't want it to get too hot like the first 3 batches did. That pretty much hosed...

    Welch's Grape Juice Wine

Thanks again, I have all three so I might use tea on the next batch. Was mainly just trying to get the feel for things with the welches types before moving up to a kit style, or an Alexanders concentrate plus fruit. I think what I have learned at this stage is to go robust on ingredients...

    Welch's Grape Juice Wine

Thanks for the responce, really appreciate it a lot. The stoppers are brand new. The yeast was montrchet for those 3 batchs but I picked up some k1-v1116 for the next attempts. I also grabbed some sparklloid. Basically they just have a watered down flavor, so I may save them for topping, or back...

    Welch's Grape Juice Wine

Yooper, you got any recommendations for the issue I mentioned above? Yeasty, weak, rubber stopper??? Thanks! LoneTree Farms never responded, may be busy. I would kind of like to resolve so I can get some more batches going.

    Welch's Grape Juice Wine

I used 2 cans of welches for a 1 gallon batch, and placed a can of tropical fruit and half of a 1 lb. Box of white raisins chopped, into a new 1gal. paint straining bag. Brewed on the 9th, secondary on the 17th, re-racked the 7th. Haven't stabalized or anything yet, just sampled it from the...

    Welch's Grape Juice Wine

I've tried about 3-1gal batches of this recipe in various versions of additional fruit, but they all seem flavor weak, and yeasty, not to mention the essence of rubber bung. I've re-racked to secondary twice do I just let it sit longer? Stir more to Degas? Anybody got thoughts? Feel like I've...
