    Compressor Lock Up ?

Have a whirlpool sidexside, controlled with STC1000. It has run fine for 2 years. I'm guessing my compressor has locked up, the fan will start and compressor relay will click on but the compressor will not start, then the relay will click off after a minute or so. I've beat on the compressor...

Once you have jarred your washed yeast, is there any reason you can't add DME and ferment out to increase the yeast count before you put them to sleep?

    Can't Control Power To Element

I cannot control power to element. Thought SSR was bad, replaced with new SSR. PID is cycling SSR, but it is not cycling element. Full power to element all the time. When I power off PID, I still have 120V coming out of SSR to element. I have checked my wiring til I'm blue in the face...

How do you run 240V on single leg for 120V PID control

Been running my temp control using PJ diagram. I want to be able to run my element at 1/2 power, so I put a switch to the other line thinking I could turn off switch 2 and have the PID run the element on 120V. (2nd pic) Apparently it doesn't work that way, why not ? Is there simple way to wire...

Heat Stick & Gas or Electric

Hello, very new to brewing, I've done an extract and a partial extract. I now see how important temp control is. Really want to get into full grain brewing. I've seen some talk about heat sticks and kinda like the idea. I like to build my own stuff, but some things you don't monkey with and...

    Homemade Stir Stick

Built a stir plate from a foldable laptop fan from Big Lots this afternoon. Got all excited over it and was ready to try it, but I had no stir stick. My LHBS is 40 miles away, I sure as hell wasn't going to ride that far for a $4.00 stir stick and not being one to wait, I went on the forum...

    Hey Ya'll

Hello from the Carolina LowCountry. I've been on a lot of forums, from how to fix my poor ole jeep to how to remove rust from stainless steel( use aluminum foil and water or soda and rub lightly), some have been helpful and some have been 'bout hostile. I've got to say that this is the happiest...
