@MicRoBrew1 Looks like the beginning of a pellicle. Same thing happened to mine and I left it. Developed into a ful-blown, alien-poo-looking sludge on the top. I was blaming it on the use of a Wild Yeast blend. Glad to see it has happened with the Notty, too. I'm letting mine continue to sour...
I brewed a version of this recipe, but substituted Wyeast 3278 - Lambic Blend for the Nottingham Ale yeast. Siphoned off a sample at Day 8 in secondary and it was DELISH! Loyal Wife, a non-beer drinker even approved.
Strange things started happening around day 11 in secondary. Now at Day 63...
This is my first cider and I used a REALLY simple recipe: 5 Gallons unfiltered apple cider and 2 lbs brown sugar over the yeast cake from a Cream Ale.
Transferred it into secondary after a full three week ferment cycle came to a halt (sample was delish)... Two days later it was fermenting...
Starting my third brew. Already used Brewer's Best American Cream and Brewer's Best Witbeir is in Secondary.
I like the simplicity of the packaging and find the direction fairly easy to follow. (Had a fewe questions and was able to easily find the answers here on BrewTalk :).)
But I'm...
My friend closed a cafe recently and gave me 60 glass ketchup bottles. They are 14 oz as opposed to standard 12 oz... and they are clear, which sucks. But the mouth of the bottles seem the same as a standard beer bottle.
Any thoughts? Suggestions?
