Filtering? Why no love round here...?

My first time using Biofine CL was a success. The dosage was 1ml per gallon. The beer temperature was 68F when Biofine CL was added. Cold crashed for three days. The strain was wy1388 which doesn't drop quickly. The beer was fairly clear at bottling time. I wouldn't call it crystal clear...

Man Makes Beer in his Own Gut

Did you read the medical journal? http://file.scirp.org/Html/1-2100535_33912.htm Things like this don't get published without being reviewed by a panel of medical experts. It may sound strange and unbelievable, but it isn't improbable.

Man Makes Beer in his Own Gut

I have no problem believing a man could eat 2000 calories worth of sugar and expel 100 liters of gas. This happened in America.

    Chugger pump hacked user data

Was it cheaper to buy directly from Chugger instead of one of their distributors?

How do you limit beer consumption off kegs?

Tell your friends there is a three beer limit or whatever limit you choose. If they don't respect your limitation, then they lose their beer privilege. If they don't stop by your house after being cut off from beer, then they probably aren't the kind of friends you need to keep.

    Chugger pump hacked user data

Do a google search for customer data hacked. Massive companies get hacked all the time. No one is impervious to hacking. NASA was hacked by a 15 year old.

    Beer People are Annoying

You forgot to mention the importance of taking a picture of every beer you drink and uploading it to the internet. :drunk:

found an ant in my starter....

Ants groom themselves constantly with anti-microbial saliva. They are "cleaner" than humans. I'd still pitch some new yeast without an ant, but it wouldn't surprise me if the ant didn't contaminate the starter with enough bacteria to ruin the batch.

    Almond Paste

Almond paste is almonds and a lot of sugar. Sugar is what you need to look at for your calculation. Solo Almond Paste Nutritional Facts Serv. Size 2 TBSP (40g), Servings per Container about 6, Amount Per Serving: Calories 180, Calories from Fat 90, Total Fat 10g (16%DV), Saturated Fat 1g...

    Words and phrases I hate

Worse is when someone says "I know, right?" For example: Person#1 - These potato chips are too salty. Person#2 - I know, right? Typically uttered by females with an annoying voice too.

    Quck oats and extract brewing

The only proof I need is the 125 gallons of beer I made and drank. You choose not to believe my observations. That's fine.

I give up. Just listen to whatever Yooper says.

    Quck oats and extract brewing

The part that you don't seem to understand is I don't dispute the science. Yes, my oat steeped beer was marginally more microbiologically unstable. Big deal. It's not relevant with homebrew. The same thing can be said about your non filtered beers, but you haven't ordered that filter...

    Not a surprise.

    Quck oats and extract brewing

Analogy fail. There haven't been any undesirable qualities in the beers that I have brewed with a small amount of steeped oats. The sample size is about 25 different batches. I don't think I could say the same thing about 25 batches without using sanitizer. Simply saying it's a bad...

    Quck oats and extract brewing

There are starches present in most beers that sacc won't consume, so those beers are also microbiologically unstable in the same context, yet they still are good beers. The OP's beer has 8oz. of maltodextrin. Sacc won't eat that. His beer is already microbiologically "unstable". Do you...

    Quck oats and extract brewing

Yes, I have compared beers side by side that had the same extract and malt bill. The only difference was hops and oats. The beer with oats had an inch of foam that survived the entire beer. The beer without oats had a head that dissipated almost completely after a few minutes. I used oats...
