    Double IPA recipe help

The steeping temperature of 170 seems a bit high to me. I've never steeped above 165. Is that how hot you're going to let the water get before you soak the grains?

    Need suggestions

I just brewed this Double IPA and it was amazing! Definitely a beer that any hop head will enjoy. I put in a little too much honey and ended up getting it to be 10.6% ABV. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f69/happyloons-hophaven-honey-double-ipa-284740/

    Boil Time?

I'm on the hunt for a good extract Pale Ale recipe and I've come across a few where you only boil for 15-30 minutes. I've never heard of that and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with doing that.

To Drink or Not to Drink?

I recently brewed a Honey Double IPA and I cracked open the first bottle last night. It was a good, but I could definitely sense the presence of honey in it. Therefore, I am wondering if I should let it sit a while longer and let the honey ferment more. If my calculations are correct (there was...

    Morebeer!

My fiancée got me a homebrew kit from Morebeer!. It came with a brew, but that's the only kit I've used. All my other brews have come from my local homebrew store. Since that was my first brew and it wasn't really my favorite style, I couldn't tell if their kit is any good. Does anyone have...

    Off flavors

I would like to think so. I keep a bucket of about 2 gallons of sanitizing solution and run everything through it. Just out of curiosity, how do you define properly sanitized? I'm always looking for good tips. Ps. Since my siphoning incident, I have purchased an autosiphone.

    Off flavors

Thanks for the help. No, all four were not IPA's. My first brew was a blonde ale, my second brew was a hoppy stout, my third brew was the IPA, and my 4th brew was a red ale. Yes, I bottle all my beers. I suspect that my bottling process is off. I soak my bottles in a warm bleach solution...

    Off flavors

Hi, I'm a new brewer. I have brewed 4 batches of beer and all 4 have experienced a similar problem. I'm hoping that one of you will have the answer to my dilemma. My beer gains off flavors over time. It's hard to describe, but I think the best way to describe it would be "spoiling." The...
