    Industrial fridge into kegerator question

Yeah I’m super pumped about it. Technically I can fit 9 kegs in the bottom of each side. But I have only 4 on one side right now. The other side is being used for non alcoholic stuff. Like drinks and extra food.

    Industrial fridge into kegerator question

That’s exactly what I did. It turns out it was safe to drill. It’s an awesome find. I got it for free and just paid someone to fix all the wiring back up. Turns out nothing was wrong with it except for the wiring was disconnected.

    Industrial fridge into kegerator question

I recently acquired an old fridge that was used for stuff like immunizations. I got it working great. My issue is, I want to put the taps for the kegs on the side of it. They would go on the wall the kegs are against in the photo. The unit has the compressor and fan on the top. How do I make...

Did Northern Brewer Purchase Austin Homebrew AND/OR Adventures in Brewing?

AHS was my local place. I’ve been going to them for about 8 years. I have to drive through Austin to get to SOCO Homebrew now. They do ship ingredients. I have ordered online through them twice and they got my stuff to me within about three days both times.

    Fermenting under pressure

I’ve been making mainly Pilsner recipes from more beer. I can’t remember the recipe, but it has been a few different ones and I drink to much to remember and I suck at writing **** down.

    Fermenting under pressure

I use a Fermzilla, which is rated at 35PSI. I ferment at 25-30 PSI with no problem. My temp in my closet is between 70-73.

    Pressurized Fermentation- Target Yeast Temperatures?

Yeah, I just keep my spunding valve at about 25-30 and put it on my fermenter as soon as I transfer it from my brew pot. I usually get the temp down to 75-80 in my brew pot. I’m in Texas, so the ground water doesn’t get to cold.

    Pressurized Fermentation for Capacity Constraints

First of all, I’m far far far from an expert. But on lagers, I just set my spunding valve to 25-30 after I cool my wort down to about 75-80 F and leave it alone for two weeks until I keg. I have done one ale and I heard that the PSI can be a bit trickier. The one I did brew under pressure...

    Pressurized Fermentation- Target Yeast Temperatures?

I just got my pressure fermenter and I’m loving it. I’m far from an expert, hell, I haven’t taken a gravity reading in years. I figured I’d post what I’ve learned. I hear people saying not to ferment at a time high PSI. I’ve done a hand full of batches so far and almost all of them are lagers. I...

    Pressurized Fermentation for Capacity Constraints

I recently got my Fermzilla. I have brewed about 4 lagers so far in my closet with no temp control. It’s typically low 70s. All of my beers came out really good. I’ve been making ales for about 8-9 years. I am extremely happy with the beers I’ve been producing recently. Except for one, but that...

First batch... Ready to bottle! With a few questions...

When I bottled I would get my kits from Austin homebrew, because it was my LHBS. They would include a package of priming sugar in all their kits. They have a pre-measured amount for 1 gallon batches that you can use and they are less than a dollar...

Another Dumb Noob "Where do I go from here?" Post

The process I went is partial mash to all grain via BIAB. Moving to all grain using BIAB is a cheap way to start producing better beer than extract. Then I went to kegging. I LOVE this upgrade! I have three taps and I just open up the tap and pour me a glass. It's so much more satisfying than...

    Need help choosing methods!

I did the BIAB method for over a year and a half before I decided to move to a mash tun. I was perfectly happy with it and my beer came out great. I finally decided to move to a mash tun and I like it better, but only because of a personal preference. Like others have said, try it out because it...

    Portable igloo cooler kegerator

This is my portable setup. I didn't want to have to buy the smaller legs so I wanted to fit my 5 gallon legs in a rolling cooler I already had. So I rigged up a top that just sits on the cooler with the lid removed. It stays cold pretty well and I can just squeeze in two 5 gallon kegs. These...

    Tinnitus

I am not a doctor, but I am a Medic in the Army. We had a Soldier come in once complaining of vertigo. My PA had him do what's called, the Epley maneuver. What this does is that it kind of "resets" your balance. In people who have been diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo it helps...

    First try Sour Beer

That's exactly what i was planning on doing. I am out of town until Saturday but it is staying pretty cool until then. It stays between 65-80. I guess thats cool for Lacto.

    First try Sour Beer

Thanks for the reply. That does actually help. I guess I need to read up on Berliner Weisse. I just wasn't sure on the best way to use it. After talking to some people I think I want to make a stout, and just use the sour as part of the boil to make a sour stout. That sounds really tasty to me...

    First try Sour Beer

So I wanted to try my hand at making a sour beer. I was at my buddies house (Saturdsay)while he was making an Amber. he was done with his grains and I thought "What the hell" might as well go for it. I took the grains and put them in a fermenting bucket. I added water in a 1# to 1.25qt ratio. It...

    Disappointed with Austin Homebrew Supply

I just want to say thank you to Forrest for letting us know whats going on. I have been going to AHS for over a year and have been extremely happy with you guys. I was afraid you were going out of business or that someone just didn't care about the store anymore. I will continue to shop with you...
