    False Bottom Too False..

Have you tried taking a half to full gallon out OG your mash and pouring it back over the top of the grain bed. This always helps me get a cleaner run off. The grain bed should settle a little more for you this way.

How long do stouts take to carb?

Darkly speaking, I'd be worried about how dark it is. ;)

Is this copper chilling system viable?

You only need about 8 bags of ice to take beer from boil to 75. I stop there and let it cool the rest of the way down as I transfer into primary and pitch the yeast

OG was way off from Beersmith

How was your grain? I recently had the same issues brewing a Porter. When adding grain to mash tun cooler I noticed it was ground pretty fine not just cracked. I think mine was from stuck sparge due to floury grain bed.

Bull's Eye Brewery, Spokane. Home brewer

Thank you, not really necessary but it's fun to do. I run a mobile app development company where I do graphic design. Having Adobe Illustrator helps if you have access to it and time to learn.

    WOW beers! What are yours?

Couldn't repeat it but our first brew was plagued with volume issues and turned out about 2 gallons short. It ferments hard and then turned into the thickest smoothest porter you've had. I'm gonna try and do it again but there was too much wrong

suggestions for all grain setup (pics)

Nice job, I have a custom spray bar that looks very similar to yours. The one thing I added was a flush out 1/2" port on the other end of the looped spray bar. Grain inevitably works it way to the bar and gets itself stuck in the holes. But running a few gallos of boiling water through it does...

    Spokane father and son brewers

Hey all, My dad and I have been brewing for just a little while now and live in the Spokane Valley. I attached a pic of our brew system below. We are both retired and love to brew. We are planning on starting a brew club for other local brewers to come over and have a place to brew without...

    Our Brewing system Please review

This is a system in progress, we may decide to add other options later but truthfully, we are pretty novice still and are trying to really get a repeatable, stable, system that we can perfect our learning on basic brews to start with. We built this with upgradability in mind though. The first...

    Our Brewing system Please review

The filter is actually a medical grade stainless unit from Hollister Steer. Picked it up a long time ago with the stainless plate chiller.

    Our Brew System

Sorry for the long delay, Brew Fans. We had a few monkeys to wrench out of the brew system before the next brew. I thought we could do a better job of describing the components of the Bull's Eye Brew System so I asked Dad to walk us through it to a little funk. We will be posting more...
