American Wheat Beer Widmer Hefeweizen American Wheat

Hey, I just brewed this last weekend (AG BIAB). I have brewed German hefeweissens before and am familiar with their fermentation schedule/temps to invoke the preferred esters, etc. This is the first AWA I've brewed though and I didn't see too much describing fermentation. I'm 7 days in at 68...

Imperial Nut Brown Ale w/ Maple

HighlandRanger, I like this recipe and want to brew it but i have a few questions specifically around the Maple Syrup since i've never used it in a brew. I've seen EXTREMELY conflicting info out there and wondered if you could help. Here it goes: 1. Is late addition in the mash or...

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

yeah, i'm in the same boat too. I just bottled mine last week. I tried one yesterday and it was very malty; the hops wer good and strong but it was definitely too malty. My fermentation was very similiar as well, i had an OG of 1.090 and pitched a 2 pack of US-05 (starter) and only had...

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

Funny you mention the kick! I did mine as my first BIAB batch and my efficiency was bad so I threw in about a half pound or so of table sugar and that got it going for sure. I pitched a starter of 2 US-05 packets and the fermentation was decent but only for a couple days but it definitely...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Damn, but I'm glad it will still be beer! :) Good to know the results though, not really sure why I did that this is not my first time dry hopping. I think I was a bit distracted by the season premier of Mad Men and slipped up. Thanks guys, I'll definitely let the thread know how it turns out.

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Just a qq for the thread. Does it matter when the dry hop charge is added? I added mine right after the yeast. I realize now that that might not have been correct, but will the result just be more hop aroma or something bad? I like hops! :)

Thanks guys! I think that covers all the questions I had. I'm looking forward to brewing this beer this weekend. Cheers!

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Ok, so I asked the guy at the LBS and he suggested i ferment it as an ale but that if I laggered it would be that much better. He also pointed out that whenever you keg a beer and let it sit in you kegerator for a month or so that you are essentially laggering it. Makes sense, but I don't keg...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Hi, I think I have gone through this whole thread and I have not seen a post that answers my questions clearly and definitively, sorry in advance if I missed it. I am heading to the LBS in a few to pick up the ingredients and planning on brewing this this weekend. But my questions are this: 1)...

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

Hey thanks finbar! I'm actually like 30 mins into the mash, man I'm really testing out the limits of my 30 qt kettle with this grain bill! Right at the top! So I think I'm gonna just let it go about 75 mins at 150 with some stirs (I'm really babysitting this) and see where I'm at then. But I...

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

Thanks for the advice, too bad I already picked up the grain :(. I'll stick with what I have for this one, too much going on to run back to the hbs. On another note, how long did u mash and did you use the same temp guidelines as the AG recipe? As for the bag I bought a bunch of that Swiss...

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

Scottlland, Thanks for sharing this recipe i can't wait to brew it! QQ though: I've spent about as much time as i have reviewing the thread and i don't see anything related to BIAB. As i don't have any experience with All Grain but want to try it i think BIAB is the way to go. So i do...
