Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

All of @day_trippr's stuff is pretty much gospel. The fact that we have the resources of the crazy-smart people on this forum is amazing. Given that he designs micro controller stuff for the likes of hard drive manufacturers and others, it is pretty incredible that he gives his time back to...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Sorry for the bit off topic post, but for those of you who use pH analyzers like the Rosemount 1056, what do you set the temp correction in the analyzer to? If there is no temp correction set, what mash pH at mash temps would be the equivalent room temp pH of 5.4? I've always only measured at...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Just run the script after installing Buster. The script will do everything else.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

If the screen lights up, turn the potentiometer more times than you think you need to and likely you'll get the data to display. I've had to turn upwards of 20 revolutions.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

It is possible to run with one probe, but it can't be assigned to beer temp. For it to work, the one probe needs to be the chamber temp. Not sure with your system if you can trick it into working by putting the chamber temp into your fermenter, but that definitely wouldn't be a standard setup...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

These work without any adapters: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.amazon.com/John-Guest-PM450813E-Female-Connector/dp/B00N4O3J16&ved=2ahUKEwjOgKW25fnkAhXbCTQIHVkICoYQFjACegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw3sft-tjHzlMeNGqwwYBHPu Edit: these work, assuming you have tubing like the...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I was able to pick up two of them for $55 each with three NPT adapters. I don't have them hooked up to BruControl yet, but they work great to monitor my fly sparge flow rates.

Unfortunately, those are notorious for having problems. Bypass the switch and fuse and just use the plug portion of the unit. Unplug the unit to turn it off.

Yep, you definitely need a chamber sensor. That's the only one you need, but better to have both the beer and chamber sensors.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Hey @BrunDog, on your 30amp brewery universal schematic, on the two Adafruit Max31865 boards, you show the GND pins tied to each other, but not back to the ground terminal strip. Is this intentional, or an oversight? I ask not to be critical, but because I'm in the midst of modifying the...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Not really a BruControl specific question, but for those of you who use inline pH meters, what is the equivalent pH that you shoot for at mash temps versus room temp readings? Do you shoot for the same pH level as you do for room temp readings and trust the ATC, or do you shoot for a...

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

Yep, just go the Google Sheets route. @Thorrak set up a great tutorial on the TiltBridge pages detailing how to do it. He even set up a domain to transfer the http to https that is needed to communicate with Google Sheets.

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

You're correct that the TiltBridge isn't a bluetooth signal booster but rather just picks up the bluetooth signal and transmits the data via wifi to your Pi or other server. That being said, it is ideal that you place it inside of your fridge close to your fermenter, which then has a better...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Hey @RandR+, I have run your install script a couple of times this weekend (don't ask me why), and it seems to work flawlessly. Two questions for you: 1. When I ran the script a few months ago, I seem to remember that the script prompted you for an install directory in case you didn't want to...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Using the @RandR+ install, everything seemed to go okay on a clean Buster install. Trying to get the flowmeters to work and I get this error in the log: I'm using an Uno connected to the Pi via the usb cable. Any ideas?

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

+1 to this. I just tried an install using RandR+'s version and experienced the same phenomena. Blank screen except for the "your logo here" and "beers on tap". I tried changing everthing I could think of in the config page but nothing changed it.

Dual use of 30 AMP outlet

I totally agree that a switch is over thinking this problem. I just wanted to see if there was a way this could be done that meets code, having both the outlet and the hard wired a/c on the same 240v branch. I'm 99% sure I'll go the 120v route and repurpose one of the 120v branches or upgrade...

Dual use of 30 AMP outlet

I figured it was probably a code violation to simply add the wired a/c unit to the existing circuit and just not use the brewery panel at the same time. I was hoping for some miracle code-approved switch box that would allow both to be on the same circuit but only one in use at the same time...

Dual use of 30 AMP outlet

Thanks for the reply. I'll look at the 120v mini split option. That may be the easiest way to get this accomplished.

Dual use of 30 AMP outlet

I have a dedicated 30 AMP circuit in my garage for my brewery. I installed a dryer outlet to power my control panel. The wife has asked me to put an air conditioner in the garage so that she can put her treadmill out there. I want to install a 220V split unit air conditioner and I want to use...
