Homebrew Shoppie gave us too much LME!

Thanks guys, we ended up using some tips from this site: http://www.howtobrew.com/section1/chapter3-4.html We put the whole 10.5 pounds in, realizing that our OG and FG would be off from what the recipe calls for. We brought the final volume to about 5.5 gallons in the fermenter, and threw in...

Homebrew Shoppie gave us too much LME!

Hey guys, I'm brewing an IPA from a kit, it goes as follows: 9.0 lbs Light LME 1.0 lb Brewers Malt 1.0 lbs Cara Red 2.5 oz Magnum (Bittering) 1.75 oz Centennial (Finishing) 2.25 oz Centennial (Dry Hop) 1 tsp. Irish Moss Wyeast 1056 The problem (?) is that our homebrew shop...

    Polishing Keggles!

That might work, these were in pretty rough shape so I've been gradually going from coarse to fine Gator Pads. After I get all the nicks and scratches out, some machine to buff it could save a lot of time! I've spent about 7 hours over the past 2 days.

It's looking like I'm going to blow through the whole pack on one keg, switch to some ultra-fine sand paper to do the rest by hand, and then buff to a mirror...

    Polishing Keggles!

Hey all! I just called it a night on my new keggle project. I bought two 15.5 gallon kegs, two 6 gallon carboys, a grain mill, and a bench capper from a guy recently, and I'm converting one of the kegs into a brew pot! I've been kit brewing for almost a year now, and I'm planning on making 10...

New Avery beer to be bottled!

Luckily what makes them money is some really tasty beer! And I have been to McNellie's! Had a pint of Left Hand Milk Stout there the other night.

New Avery beer to be bottled!

Last July I visited friends in Boulder, CO and toured the Avery Brewery and Tap Room, and was bitten by the homebrew bug. They had recently tapped a new brew, dubbed Lilikoi Kepolo, and it was amazing! Light and crisp with a beautiful white head, citrusy, with hints of mango and passionfruit...
