My LHBS wants $24 for a 5 lb exchange. I know of another place that fills for $17 but I would make that up the diffrance in gas to get there. Anyone know of a place in the NWBurbs of Chicago thats cheaper?

I didnt think 5lbs was a lot. I have seen other recipes call for that and some even more. To put into Perspective 5 lbs of strawberrys...its a 1 gallon zip lock bag full.

Thanks progmac, I did just pitch it and hope for the best. As far as I know it was never frozen or heated over 100. I put the pack in a warmer place and it swelled a little more before pitching. thanks for your help though.

Sorry, yes the wheat is a DME also. I dont see a best use date just a MFG date of Jan 15 2013. Its a geman ale 1007 Wyeast
