Thinking bout going electric Biab, Pico brew, was wandering if their heater element was propietery, or can I go to lowes for a new element if I needed

I recently bought a 100q cooler, to brew 10 gal beers. I guess that I also just started checking gravity. My question is, do you buy enough grains for 12 gal, to account for boil off,or just10 gal, boil then add water to bring it back up?

I tried a different arangment with my manifold, needless to say , I screwed the pooch! The OG should have been 1.078, I ended up with, 1.053, with this in mind, if it finishes at the 1.022, I will have a abv of 4.07,which as you can tell is poor! I added 1 cup of sugar with 2 cups of water...
