    Best line from a song

Ain't no doubt about it, we were doubly blessed. Cause we were barely 17 and we were barely dressed. Meat Loaf - Paradise by the Dashboard Lights

    Need to go electric...

My biggest gripe with my 120v AIO system was the ramp times. But I recently added a hotrod heat stick to my arsenal and put it in during ramp times (start to mash and mash to boil) and it cut those times in half, maybe more.

    SweetTarts?

    Stupid math

    SweetTarts?

Just curious - how are you coming up with the amount of 1 gram dextrose per tart from that label?

    SweetTarts?

To me, sweettarts have a sweet, acidic, fruit flavor. I think that would pair nicely with certain fruit-forward hops. think pastry sours, etc

    SweetTarts?

good idea. I've got an NEIPA on schedule next so I will try this in a couple bottles when it is ready

    SweetTarts?

i looked this one up on untappd and on their website and it's not really made clear if they actually used sweet tarts or if that was just the name they chose or flavor profile they were aiming for.

    SweetTarts?

it may be a month or two but I may try a small batch just to see

    SweetTarts?

I was looking at the back of a box of SweetTarts and the ingredients are dextrose, maltodextrin, malic acid and calcium stearate. Anyone ever tried using them in a beer recipe? (flavor addition, abv booster and possible sour effect?)

    Dough In- Devices and techniques?

I had seen this question asked early on in this thread but didn't see an answer until your post. I use a Brewzilla so that is what my strike water is heated in and the mash is performed in. With the strike water already in the vessel, the only way I could see to underlet would be like you said -...

    Motor for Grain Mill

To clarify - I already have a drill that works fine. But I built a new mill stand out of a spare cabinet and was looking for a more "permanent" motor solution that is small and won't breaking the bank. I like the solution here...

    Motor for Grain Mill

the motor used in that thread (XD-60GA775) is rated at 6.37 kg/cfm. Doesn't that convert to only about 5.5 pounds/inch? The poster in that thread said it worked fine but that is nowhere near the 40 inch pounds recommended above. Torque is not my specialty so I could be discombobulating things.

    Motor for Grain Mill

what would be the minimum torque required to run a standard homebrew grain mill?

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

when I purge my kegs, I fill them with water/starsan to the top and push out with co2. How would you purge a keg that is loaded with hops?

    CO2 Transfer Question

I just picked up a 20# exchange. The tare weight stamped on the tank said 25.0 lbs. I weighed it when I got home and it weighed just over 45 lbs so they definitely got a full 20 lbs of CO2 in it.

    CO2 Transfer Question

$11 for a 20# exchange? Wow, that is a great price. A 20# exchange for me was $39. But that still a whole lot better than when I was paying $28 for each 5# exchange.

    CO2 Transfer Question

the 20lb does not have a dip tube but I invert it b4 transferring so that it transfers liquid.

    CO2 Transfer Question

I have a 20lb CO2 tank and a transfer hose that I use to refill my 5lb CO2 bottles with. Works great. But I got to wondering. How does it know to move the CO2 from one bottle to the other. I assume that when the 20lb bottle is full, the pressure is enough to force the CO2 into the empty 5lb...
