    First all-grain, stuck fermentation

Thanks Demus, you've put me onto something that I hadn't considered. As an extract brewer I always topped off from the tap as well, but of course that isn't happening with a full volume BIAB. From poking around a just a bit in the forums I'm getting the impression that that might have been an...

    First all-grain, stuck fermentation

Thanks Demus, I think I just learned that about temp control the hard way. :-) I'm considering sending a complaint about the advice I received from my online vendor about that. I know it's not the same thing for several reasons, but I've never had to make a starter with my extracts and have...

    First all-grain, stuck fermentation

Thanks for the responses guys. Been over 4 days since the Coopers and careful temp control with no observable activity. A clearer sample (significantly less suspension and sediment than you see in the sample above) has it at 1.024 now. I've racked it and will wait awhile longer, if for no...

    First all-grain, stuck fermentation

I have many extract brews under my belt and have always been happy with the quality. I have a couple all-grain brewer friends who have also commented that they would have thought my beers were all-grain if I hadn't told them I use extracts. But it did seem time to step up regardless, and it gave...

    Show us your keggle

Apologies. Don't know why I failed to find that thread. I guess I'm a search-tard. Moderator should feel free to move these posts over there. Breckenridge, after conducting my boil test I laminated mine with a high tech surface that I like to call Black Gorilla Duct Tape. :-)

    Show us your keggle

Since there are "show us your kegerator" and "show us your brew sculpture" threads, I thought I'd start a "show us your keggle thread" for those of us that want to show off our keggles but don't have a sculpture (I use my keggle to BIAB).

    Show us your Kegerator

You can find this conversion elsewhere, but I did it differently because of the under counter application. I think this technique might be helpful to others in the same boat. What you are seeing is a loop of 1/2" copper pipe fed up thru the fridge into the counter top and into the tower. The...

Perhaps helpful info regarding Cornelius regulators

If your Cornelius regulator leaks from the little weep hole on the face, and it does so only when you reduce your output pressure setting, then it might be comforting for you to know that this is normal behavior. Unlike other regulator brands the Cornelius will immediately release the excess...

    regulator leak problem

Will do, thanks for the recommendation.

    regulator leak problem

Thanks again Golddiggie. Thought I'd give you an update and get your opinion as to whether you still think that is necessary. 1) I could not find a manufacturers mark anywhere on it, but it looks like all the pictures of Cornelius regulators, and not at all like Taprite or NADS. There's an...

    regulator leak problem

Thanks. Given that it doesn't leak when the outflow is shut off, I'm getting by for now just shutting that and opening it again when keg pressure drops too low. Couldn't get to LHBS today (it's about 28 mi each way)because caring for sick kid while Mom was away, and of course they're not open...

    regulator leak problem

Thanks. Definitely leaking from the center screw. Not sure what the brand is, but will check it out, disassemble to look at the diaphram (if I can figure out how to do that), and look for a rebuild kit. I really appreciate the help. Hope I can manage to save this excellent porter in the process.

    regulator leak problem

Thanks for the quick reply. The leaking gas is coming from the keg pressure adjustment screw, not from the output shutoff valve. Could the problem still be with the check valve?

    regulator leak problem

My wife bought me a keg, tank, and regulator approx 12 years ago, just when I stopped brewing because kids came along. I just recently started back up and have fired up the keg. It appears that I have a problem in that my regulator is leaking from the keg pressure adjustment valve. I'm not...
