Irish Stout Ode To Arthur, Irish Stout (Guinness Clone)

Yeah, i figured that. But if I remember correctly, I would not leave it on the gas for very long. I would pressurize it, wait till the hiss stopped, and then pull the line. It does not taste very carbonated at all. When I get home, ill check the actual pressures and even the mixture tag on the...

Irish Stout Ode To Arthur, Irish Stout (Guinness Clone)

Its been like that for probably a month now. It pours out pretty quickly and even has a little squeel because of all of the pressure by my god is it good. Luckily I double ordered the recipe so I am about to make another batch which I am going to try to increase head retention a bit.

Irish Stout Ode To Arthur, Irish Stout (Guinness Clone)

Just wanted to bump and say my clone has finally achieved the cascade. It has been sitting around 30psi on a 75/25 mix and now pours with a beautiful cascade and about an inch head on a 20oz Guinness glass. I think the problem was carbing with 100% co2 at 10 lbs and trying to just push it with...

Compact, Portable Keezer Build (7 cf Lowes special)

Looks good! Have you actually had 5 kegs in it yet? I am going to be kegging another soon and will have a full line so it's going to be a fun game. Also, have you used your nitro tap yet? I made a guinness clone that is delicious but does not have the head or cascade it should.

Compact, Portable Keezer Build (7 cf Lowes special)

Finally got some more work done. Applied 2 coats of poly to the top and 1 to the bottom. This oak really sucks it up. It will take many coats to get it done but its a start! Also routed some lines, added in the manifold to split some lines, and got some organization done so that the stout keg...

Irish Stout Ode To Arthur, Irish Stout (Guinness Clone)

Let it sit a few more days on co2 at 10psi and swapped back to nitro @ 28psi and it still looks like the following. You can hear and audible squeel as it pours because of all of the pressure. What am I missing here?

Irish Stout Ode To Arthur, Irish Stout (Guinness Clone)

On your advice, i turned it down to 4 last night and moved it to nitro today. I started pouring at 10psi but theres no real head. I just read that it should be served around 28 psi. This is my first use of this nitro setup. Thanks for the advice!

Irish Stout Ode To Arthur, Irish Stout (Guinness Clone)

Made a batch of this a few weeks ago and just kegged it yesterday. Sample was delicious and seemed spot on aside from seeming a bit light in color. Will see how it turns out carbed. Have it sitting on 12psi of co2 and will move it to nitro some time this weekend. (That pressure good for carbing...

Compact, Portable Keezer Build (7 cf Lowes special)

Well I apparently did not take many pictures on Halloween but I got a nice picture of the setup before everyone showed up. Ended up being the room where everyone hung out all night lol. Was originally going to roll it out into the living room but the back panel and one side trim piece was not...

The nitro is a 5# looking tank. I know their use different standard measurements but one thing to note is you will have to have some way to raise it off of the floor so that the gauges are above the keg line. You don't want to have any pressure resting on the neck.

Compact, Portable Keezer Build (7 cf Lowes special)

It absolutely would. I saw the space for #10 so went ahead but a #5 would make it easier to maneuver. I have a spare #5 which I might throw in there if it comes to fitting 5 kegs in. Ill gets some pics up tonight. Got the whole work area cleaned up and am having a HW party. Still needs some...

    Stc-1000+

Got the new sensor in and it worked like a charm. The sensor you sent had a smaller thermistor that was black and sealed well. The one I had was a longer, thermowell looking tube that was supposedly sealed on the end but I guess leaving it submerged caused it to short. Is it safe to leave the...
