    $400 invested and three problem riddled batches to show for it

    In regards to the cooling question. The key will be to cool as fast as you can if you MUST let it set for a half day or so at least put it in your carboy and cap it so nothing nasty gets into it. For the love of the beer gods dont let the bugs and nasty things get into your wort!

    Any thoughts on this pot?

    I do agree stainless is better but in my case I wanted to make the jump from extract to all grain but money was kind of tight. In the future I will move up to stainless.

    I have that pot. So far I have boiled 4 batches in it and it has worked well. The sides are pretty thick and not flimsy. I put a weldless ball valve on it with no problem. It also heats pretty fast on my propane burner so that's a plus. Overall I think it's a good deal for the price Andrew
