    Pickles in beer?

    I work at a pub in Albany NY and a couple from S. Dakota just ordered two bud lights with a dill pickle spear in each. They said that's the way they drink it in S Dakota can anyone elaborate on this? Where/when did this tradition start?

    First infection

    Brewed a dry stout for St. Pattys day. Fermentation was slow to start i was using yeast i had saved from a previous batch but i don't think that was the culprit. Beer tasted fine so I racked to a keg below the infection and put it on co2 immediately. Hopefully the absence of o2 will keep it...

    Turkey fryer pot mashing

    I have been doing this the past few brews thought I would share. My lhbs sometimes package my base malts in a briess 3 wall paper bag which I have been using to insulate my pot during the mash. It has worked quiet well only a 1-2 degree drop.
