    Returning to Brewing

I have been a longtime forum member, but had to step away from brewing due to life issues. I'm at a place where I can try to get back to it, and will start being more active again. Might start with some smallish batches, so will be looking for help to scale top a 2-2.5 gallon size. I hope...

    Craft Beer MAW(Easy Version)

Glad it got worked out. was it still fully taped, or did it look like it got opened? Anyway, now let's all have a nice brew and enjoy the fruits of our group.

Cheap new in open box 2600 watt induction $55.36

it looks like something in there system made a HUGE pricing error, or maybe they got hacked and someone changed the pricing; and they only caught it after some orders got placed.

I am good with letting someone else grant and post their own list... I think he was gonna have it sorted by Saturday supposedly? and it's now 3 days later than that... if we have a granter.. go for it, in my book

    VERY low alcohol content

+1 to all of this... kit instructions seem to (nearly invariably) suck... and leave the poor newby brewer stuck with problems or unsatisfying results. I learned after my first batch that, regardless of kit direction giving a number of days... do gravity readings of samples...and usually let...

    Dear lord someone help me

C'mon... we just naturally assume that part of the process has been explained and is being followed.. no need to restate the the somewhat tipsy obvious... every brew session must involve fruits of a previous session.

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Ok, after some chatting back and forth with a couple other people, decided to go ahead and chill this batch... First sampling is being done now, after about 30 hours chill-time... Head formation was nice, smooth creamy head, but not much retention; also, no lacing on the glass as I drink...

    Dear lord someone help me

Ok, for the water addition, I see now that you probably did a partial boil and then topped up to full batch size, so the gravity and ABV should be no problem. As for the transfer... the only small process change I see is IF you did that last filtered transfer AFTER pitching... I doubt it will...

    Craft Beer MAW(Easy Version)

ok, semi-off topic, but is 24 hours chill-time too little ? ... there are all these tempting lookin bombers of black IPA calling to me from my Ref... and I really wanna try one, but I don't want to do it so early that I am interupting any important process in the beer?

    Dear lord someone help me

To the OP - It will be fine, and should turn into a very drinkable beer, baring a TRUE major issue during the remainder of the process. Missing a hop addition by a minute is not going to 'bork' your beer. The total cooldown time doesn't seem too bad, though the addition of water to the wort...

A Controversial Question: What is the best crappy beer?

I used to drink MGD (Miller Genuine Draft) almost exclusively... until I discovered real craft and homebrewed beers. Now MGD tastes like carb'd water to me.

Chup, you didn't break anything.. we just hafta sort out who is gonna pop you. looks like it is handled, so no worries.. a couple days doesn't kill anyone I am barely a week out of granting, but can't wait to help out another mate. I know I can't satisfy yours very well, so am waiting for the...

    Calling All Metal Fans

ok, time for a debate/fuss session... hopefully we keep it civil. What would you say are the top 10 metal albums anyone NEEDS to own... here is one sample that I think is kinda close...though I will have a couple changes shortly... opinions? I do take exception to the lack of AC/DC. other...

I think I still lean toward the hoppy types, but my next list will be WAY more open to what someone thinks are good examples of many styles... I really need to expand my beer palette I wish this site had a messenger chat function... it would be nice to be able to chat quick time

    Craft Beer MAW(Easy Version)

I must admit, since I posted that comment about not caring for dark beers.. a friend has turned me on to several GOOD examples of stout/porter styles and I am starting to be a fan... so my next list will be more open... the New Belgium black lager you sent is delicious, I have yet to try the...
