    Coopers stout - metallic

I've had a irish stout and treacle brew in the bottle for the last month. It tastes like tin can! Have I chuffed this batch up?

    ABV concern

I bought some Alcotec restart yeast...but you guys sound like I shoulda leave it. Is the alcohol level going to increase in the bottle?

    ABV concern

I'm such an idiot I forgot to take down the og... Should I add some more yeast again? If I do would I need to put the krausen back in and stir it about again? It's about two weeks old now

    ABV concern

I've just done my week test and the Hydrometer has just sunk to the bottom of my tester sample!!! The brew is a coopers Irish stout with a full tin of treacle and half KG of muntons dextrose. I started around 1030 on OG (I'm dam sure) its now reading 10 on the coopers hydrometer...

    Fermentation issue?

After a week i've got no sign of the yeast foaming and fermenting. Its a coopers stout with some treacle... Has the yeast been killed off and its useless?

    Carbonation times - coopers

I couldn't resist trying one after 2.5 weeks (It was my Bday last saturday) and carbonation just wasn't ready :( I did have a bit of froth but it just died after about 5 mins, it also tasted rather yeasty still.

    Brew left in Vessel

Thanks Bob for the tip on swingtops...I was worried about this, I will certainly be a bit more careful than with my PET bottles. I've got some coopers carb tablets. Im hoping my mature brew is a hit for the summer so will let you know in a few weeks :)

    Brew left in Vessel

I did think this but thank you for the confirmation. It doesn't look infected to be honest either. Now looking forward to seeing how much different swingtops are for carbonation :)

    Brew left in Vessel

Hi, I have left my brew (out of lazyness to order my bottles!) in the cask for a bit longer than usual. Now have the bottles in the next day or so arriving so is this length going to have dampened my brews potential and alcohol level?

    Sweet outcome

I left it for 2-3 weeks to ferment in primary, the OG had levelled so I assumed it was ok. Can't find my OG/FG but i have a feeling it was the 500g of sugar added...

    Sweet outcome

Hi, I did this brew http://www.coopers.com.au/the-brewers-guild/how-to-brew/stout/best-extra-stout It's come out very nice but just a tad too sweet, i really feel it on the teeth! Will the sweetness go if I leave it a bit?

    Good OG

Oh ok...it was this http://www.coopers.com.au/the-brewers-guild/how-to-brew/stout/best-extra-stout I Used boiling water for the first mix up so could it be that?
