I scaled up to 3 gallons, with a few hitches. I tripled the fermentables and lactose. On WLP 001, I let the ale go for 1 month. I can't stand yeasty off flavors, that's why.
I racked to bottling and found a drop from 1.062 to 1.014. I will tell you, this version of the recipe really upsets...
8/2/13 - sweet. First batch just went into the primary.
My LBHS only had DME in 3# sacks. So 3 gal batch it was. I went ahead and tripled the other ingredients, but might not need to triple the extracts. I'm not sure yet. That's a solid 5-7 days away!
Also, instead of yeast nutrient and...
BaurBrewery - could you do me a solid?
I'm definitely going to brew this up soon, because I love rootbeer and a hard rootbeer is way cool.
Would you mind posting this recipe as if it were a normal homebrew recipe - ingredients, boil time, OG, FG, yeast: all that? I've read all the way through...
They're weeds, essentially. We've had rain, and I installed drip irrigation.
Columbus likey
My cascade, brewers gold, mt hood, and chinook are all at 13 ft and have wrapped the arbors - but no cones. Very strange to have Columbus cones the 4 inches in length and nothing doing on the others...
I submitted this to recipes forum, but got a couple views and replies only. Wanted some more input, so I'm casting a line out in the beginners section.
This is cool. A local microbrew, just opened, is doing a homebrew collaboration. They're making a simple pale ale wort: modest bitterness at...
To our local homebrew club, don't call me out on this one, please.
To everyone else, this is cool. A local microbrew, just opened, is doing a homebrew collaboration. They're making a simple pale ale wort: modest bitterness at 35 IBU and OG in the 1.050 range. There will be no added...
Harpoon Winter Warmer
All Grain - turned out fantastic. Will be an every winter brew, probably would keep making it in October to give it time to mellow in terms of spices and alcohol, though there wasn't any alcohol warmness the first time I made it.

I'm doing one gallon batches now, instead of the 5 & 10 gallons. Losing 75ml multiple times over is unacceptable - so I have to figure something else out!
Thank Bacchus I posted this when I did. I just tried to back up my Beer Alchemy files and the damn program erased my recipes. I. am. not. currently. pleased. I got back a bunch of old ones, but not this clone or the 3 batches that I've made. What a super crappy deal. Hopefully, all three...
AHHH!!!
I've been working on a clone diligently for a while now. My friend sent me his giant list of Beer Alchemy recipes and I had imported them. My clone and all its batches were hanging out in between his recipes. My mac now needs to be mailed to MacLand to get fixed. I thought I'd back...
Check it - I've made 3 batches, each one gallon. I played around with different grain percentages and didn't do much craziness on the hops. I hit my numbers pretty well for a 1 gal batch They're one week into fermentation. I will keep results on the post that I started here...
I'm at NW 23rd and Penn. I have a kegerator to build as well - but that project keeps getting pushed back and back. It doesn't help when you spend a Saturday brewing. I'd love to see your setup - I feel lost when thinking about how to go about my build.
please post your results - i'm curious. I agree, Ninkasi TD is one of the best. I stop at a bar anytime I see the white tap handle with the happy N on it.
