    Treasure Chest Keezer

I built my keezer about 4 years ago now. It has been working great since I built it. It'll hold 4 Cornelius kegs, or 3 kegs and a carboy (handy for lagering in the Summer time). I have about 40 hours into building and procuring materials. Another 10 hours into finishing the wood. It is...

I thought we need a "What I did on Summer vacation" thread! Here's a few videos of what I did on my Summer vacation. Home brew was only involved with the Idea forming portion of these videos :drunk: Underwater Camera test Lots of fish right off the dock. https://vimeo.com/102961037...

Anybody dropped a glass carboy full of beer?

I just had a little incident. I just finished racking a nice porter from primary to secondary. I cleaned up my mess and installed the airlock with some leftover One Step solution. I still had wet hands but still decided to carry the carboy full of beer to the cellar, where I do my secondary...

    Used Coffee Containers

I don't drink coffee but we go through a lot of it at work. I have about 50 of these containers now. I've bee using them for all sorts of storage of small parts from router bits to small kegerator/keg parts. I have also started using them for sanitizing parts too. Just put your sanitizer in and...

    Scrapped a keg:(

Well, i tried to MIG weld a couple of 1/2" couplings into a Sanke keg I picked up at a scrap yard. I used the correct stainless wire and gas but the welds turned out like crap. they hold water but they will hold lots of funky bugs. To fix it it I was thinking of removing the 1/2" and have 1"...

    Hops are Hardy!

One of my co workers wives has some Perle hops growing in buried 20 gal. plastic storage bins. Well they've escaped:D lol The storage bin's cracked and the Hops have spread out into their lawn. This year when they started to sprout bines, She decided to get out a shovel and turn into a human...

New future project ....stirring wort chiller.

I am throwing around the idea building or retrofitting my current wort chiller. Right now my chiller is made from (3) 20' coils of 1/4 copper plumbed in parallel with each other. They are about 2 1/2" in diameter and positioned in a triangular shape. It works great, although I have to stir the...

    Another carbonation issue...Sorry

I have just completed my keezer and it works great..for beer. However, I have made some root beer and force carbonated it. I did this by applying 35 psi co2 to it for 4 days. Then I turned it down to 12 psi. I have the temp at set at 34 degrees which I have verified. I had a short 7' 3/16 beer...

    Alpine Spring

I tried a Sam Adams Alpine spring last night. It was pretty tasty! I had it in a frosted mug. The hops were very aromatic and good flavor. A bit citrusy but good. Hardly bitter at all, almost on the sweet side.

    Tap Handles

I just finished the first of three matching tap handles for my treasure chest keezer. Masonsjax gave me the idea to take a piece of wood and wrap it with rope. I Pirated his idea and ran with it. I wanted a way to make the handle labeled for the type of beer that's on tap. I started with a...

    Hello

I'm new to the forum. I've been lurking for awhile as well as homebrewing. I just started kegging and nearly have my keezer complete. Some of my friends think I may have gotten a little carried away with my keezer build..I don't think so:D
