Anyone every try PID on a Honeywell Solenoid?

I was e-mailing the guy from Auberins (very helpful) about the creep in temperaure I get in my mash tun after the burner shuts off. He said that he's heard of people setting the control up on PID (opposed to on/off). You just have to use a longer cycle rate. I was going to play around...

Fired up the new brewstand! Check out the build!

Here's my brewstand build. Fairly standard set up. I used BG14's coverted to low pressure lp and used Honeywell's and Auberins controllers for the MLT and the HLT. The small tank mounted between the kettle and the mash tun is a coffee percolator that I converted to a HERMS tank with a 1500W...

    How's my flame look?

I'm working on converting my 10" banjo's to low pressure propane. I drilled out the orifice to .067" and I'm getting blue tips, but just want to be sure this is about the max power I'm going to get or if I should keep tweaking. The flame seems to surge in and out a bit too. I've been using a...

Help converting banjo burner to low pressure

I'm trying to convert the 3 10" banjo burners I bought to low pressure propane so i can automate the brewstand I'm working on. I put together a low pressure regulator with a Marshall 2 stage regulator and drilled out the brass orifice to about .090", which according to the charts should be...

    Low pressure Banjo burner power

After alot of thread reading, it sounds like if I want to run a 10 psi regulator on my brewstand w/automation my only choice for pilot flame safety is the expensive and difficult to find Baso h19 valve. (correct me if I'm wrong) So, I'm considering converting my banjo burners to low pressure...
