    Long time homebrewer, first time making cider here. My dad called me up and asked if I would help him press his apples... No problem, came home with 5 gallons of fresh pressed cider in an assortment of jugs and old water bottles... Dumped it all in my fermenter, added 2 lbs of corn sugar...

    Taking bottled beer on the road == lot's o foam

    Often over the holidays I take my bottled brews over to friends and family. Usually right after I get there we crack a few, then the resulting foam begins :( I'm guessing the time in the car (usually less than 20 min) agitates it too much. Does anyone have a trick to get around this problem...

    Broken mercury thermometer in mash

    I was just stirring my mash and snapped a high precision mercury filled thermometer in half inside my mash. Am I done? or can it be salvaged ? It looks like the mercury is still in the bottom half of the thermometer. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
