    Wedding IIPA advice

I am brewing all the beer for my wedding in August and need some advice on the IIPA I'm going to brew. I do not like IPA's at all and don't brew them but everyone is asking that one of the beers I brew be an IIPA. Needles to say, since I can't stand IPA's I do not know if one tastes good or...

    Beer aging question.

I am brewing around 100 gallons of beer for my wedding in August so it's time to start brewing. The problem I am facing is that I do not have the space to store it with temp control. My long term aging chamber only holds 5 kegs. I can cold crash and carb in my fermenter and keezer but will have...

    A24 has crazy attenuation

Holy crap! Imperial A24 Dry Hop is a beast! I figured I would try it out on my tropical blonde ale to accentuate the mosaic and galaxy I used. I was not expecting a 90+% attenuation. It’s only been 3 days and it’s dropped from 1.050 to 1.005 (I was shooting for 1.012) This is going to be a dry...

    Stout tap question.

I'm planning on adding my 5th tap to my keezer and am wanting to set up a stout tap. So for those who use stout taps on beer gas, do you carb on straight CO2 then serve on beer gas or is 25ish percent CO2 in the beer gas adequate to carb a stout at the higher pressure?

    Pineapple wheat struggles

Tried brewing a pineapple wheat using pineapple puree in secondary with a 3 day dry hop of mosaic and amarillo and added about 2.5 fl oz extract (in 5 gal batch) at kegging. Getting a very predominant chemical taste from the extract. Drinkable but not really enjoyable. Plus there is no way I'll...

    Custom Tap Handles

Anybody else make their own tap handles out of random stuff? I just finished these two. Buddy Christ for is for my Dogmatic IPA and the Knight’s arm/sword for my Heironeous’ (he is my D&D paladin's deity) Kolsch. I have a few more planned in the near future. I think each solid recipe I come up...

    New Imperial brand IPA yeast

Anybody pick up any Imperial A30 Corporate? I originally went to get supplies for a blonde ale but my LHBS just got it in stock a couple days ago and I thought the description was interesting. “Corporate is a Pacific Northwest favorite and is an excellent choice when making hop forward American...

    Malt mix up

So im starting to suspect my local homebrew shop accidentally gave me Munich dark instead of light in the grain bill for my kolsch. I’m a little disappointed but not too upset as it should still be tasty. However, as my inaugural brew at my new house, I was looking for a solid summer kolsch. I...

    Rusty Grain mill

So my mill was sitting in storage for a couple years. Apparently it still had some grains between the rollers that got wet and corroded them. This is the best I could clean them up after going to town on them with acetone and a wire wheel. All the corrosion is gone but I can’t get rid of the...

This might be sacrilege to some, but....

I’m making a sweet cyzer and my wife really loves it but gave up drinking a few years ago. So I started thinking about how to make an NA one that tastes good (I know kombucha has some alcohol in it but not enough to matter to her). That led to to thinking about kombucha. So here was my thought...

    Dry Cherry Cider

I'm thinking about trying my hand at adding cherry to a dry cider. I was wondering if anyone has used Vintners Harvest Sweet Cherry Puree with any success? Anyone have bad experience? I was thinking of adding 2 cans (6lbs) late in secondary or maybe during an early aging rack to try and get more...

I thought I knew how to brew

I hail from the Pacific Northwest about an hour outside of Seattle. I grew up brewing with my father off and on over the years but never really got into it enough to go solo. Recently my father decided brewing is too much work for a man of his age and gave me the brewery. It’s been sitting in...
